Topic: RE: How to be a Success!!!
Dear Adasha,
I want to thank you for your post. It is very inspiring and needs to be read and reread daily. I will be doing so and will be thinking of you as I do. I don't know if you also posted this information on another board, but I think it is diffinately something that everyone can use and find very encouraging and helpful.
I am fairly new to OH and have just checked out this board a few times. I am sorry that more people do not view this board. Perhaps it is because they see not enough posting and feel that if they post on the other boards they will be more helpful and receive more response.
You look great!, and I am so happy for your success.
God Bless You and your dear children!
Donna

James, I would be delighted to be a member of your prayer group. I have a prayer list now and I receive calls each morning to add to the list. There is so much need now for prayers. Please keep me in mind. Email me and give me more details. Susy

Y'all, I go to THE most wonderful church!!! Every Saturday night, it's like they are talking to me and only me! Tonight's sermon was so true for all of us, and I wanted to share with you.
How to be a Success!!! The lesson comes from Paul in the Philippians
Paul's Steps to Successful Living:
1. Evaluation - face my faults
What in my life do I need to change? Do a personal inventory. We must see where we are now in order to move forward.
2. Elimination - forget the past
What memory is holding me back? There are two things we must forget:
1. Our failures - we cannot do anything to change the past. We must learn from it and let it go!
2. Our successes - if you dwell on your success, you'll get stagnant and stop growing or moving forward!
3. Concentration - focus on the goal
What am I living my life for? What am I focusing on?
Write down your goals! Only 5% of the population write down their goals. Those are the 5% who are true successes in what they do.
4. Determination - fight to the finish
Do I keep on keeping on? Nothing worthwhile in life happens without effort.
How to keep on keeping on:
1. Be mature
2. Be teachable
3. Be persistent
Don't give up!!!
"Let us not grow weary in doing good. For at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
God loves us and I love all of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Bruce!
I was elated when I saw your post this morning! Not only would I like to be involved in praying for others, I would like to ask for prayer as well.
I am just starting this journey after some delays in the past, (see profile for story) but I want what the Lord wants for my life, so I have continued to search.
The issue I face is this...
I am a Gospel vocalist/musician. In the past, when I have gone on near starvation or extremely low cal diets, I have a very hard time singing. I lose my diaphragm power, I feel weak and light headed. Thus, if I go through with WLS, I am fearful of not being able to do what the Lord has called me to do. As I have been singing since the age of two, the thought of losing what I hold so dear devastates me. I am very active in several musical areas in my life, however, leading worship is my main concern at this point.
On the other hand, I feel that if I do not make a move soon, I will be facing severe health repercussions down the road. I am already experiencing some and I feel it is time to move.
I need peace in all of this...I believe that God gave man the wisdom to help people such as myself, in as much as he has given man the wisdom to heal other diseases. Though I have faced some opposition concerning this surgery in the religious community, my Pastor and leadership team are very supportive and praying with me.
Can I please ask that everyone that contributes to this board to pray for clear direction for me? And please, I would love to help pray for others. Our God is not a God of confusion. He has a clear plan for each and every one of us. He delights in His children and wants us to live an abundant life! Not one being viewed from the sidelines. I truly believe that!
