Hi Dee I check in every once in a while. I'm a RN in a correctional facility right now, but have a background in L&D, Med-Surg and geriatrics. I'm about 1 month post op. I'm hoping to go back to the hospital after I get some weight off. I'm kinda happy to go back to work because I finaly get the am shift after having to file a grievance.

I check in here occ. also but it has been a while. I am a correctional nurse with 17 year expeience in the field. I worked in Med/Surg, ER and ICU but I have found my niche working with cons. I am retiring in 5 years and cant wait. I have a date!!!! July 25th and I am getting so excited I can hardly sleep. I know that things are going to go well for me and I will be on the losing side soon. Keep me in your prayers don't the road. sonya

I'm David. I am a new grad RN. Sooo excited. I had my surgery 1 week ago. I am starting to apply for jobs, since I still have 5 weeks off of work. I am hoping for an ER/ICU new grad job.

I'm an RN also Dee. I work in Home Health and Hospice. I had my RNY on 5/01/06 and have lost 57lbs, feeling better every day. Good luck to everyone pre-op and continued success to all post-op. Amy B.

Thanks!! However, I already took my boards. I took them ASAP. I wanted them done before surgery, so I wouldn't stress during recovery. I passed. I am an official RN. I tried to keep it a secret in the hospital, but my mom told one person. Then it kept getting passed on in report. Everyone who took care of me knew.

Hi Dee, I am an RN that just relocated to Kentucky from Maryland due to the military. My background is geriatrics and currently I am taking a few weeks off to get my daughter started in kindergarten here, and to mentally recoup from being a Director of Nursing for the past 2 1/2 years while my husband was in Korea. I am down 94 pounds since September 2005 and I am feeling great. I would do everything the same if I had to. Glad to meet other RN's here. Have a great day! Shelly Charlier,RN 312/218/170
