What to expect?
Hello and welcome Mitzi!
Glad you found this place. I just had my first consult May 5, but not at the LivLite program. I am going to St Vincents in Carmel, IN. There were about 30 patients *(total of about 70 people including friends & family of prospective WLS patients). We all sat in a large room (in big butt chairs...a perk of being at a bariatric surgeons office
). After everyone was checked in (weight, height and measurements taken in private) we all met in teh room and teh surgeon was brought in. Imagine a doc explaining the history of WLS and process, risks, and then she asked about any questions people had. One I forgot to ask was how long before I could return to work.
Then each person had the opportunity to meet her in private for a quick overview of our hx, and she said a letter of medical necessity would be in teh mail within a week. That was really all. I had a psych eval the same day too, as this is usually recommended by insurers before an approval is given. She has a psychologist in her office because of this. I am still waiting on my approval. I called to check on my status Friday, and they said tehy never received it! Sneaky jerks, they should know I am not that easy to get rid of! So I refaxed it to them.
Good luck!
Lori
