I didn't know that they had an R.N post site! I'm an R.N and I'm 23! MY surgery is August 23/04! So Everyone who uses this post are nurses? Silvia

Silvia, I stop by this site from time to time. I, too am a RN. I assume that is why it is called a RN message board. I usually read and post on the MN message board. I am from MN, and some of the postees (is there such a word?) are in my area. I have only been reading this site for a few months, and have found valuable info. I am 50! Have you had surgery? I hope to. Vickie

Good luck on your surgery in a few days! Welcome to a healthier, happier way of life. I am so happy to have shed 80 pounds- I was carrying around my 9 year old daughter that I can hardly lift! I have much more energy to do my job, and my coworkers made me twirl around in the middle of the room at my last staff meeting! They are so happy for me. I have received so many congratulations for taking MY life into MY own hands with the decision I made 4/04. I would recommend this to everyone. Yes there are risks! Morbid obesity has the risks nurses understand very well too! Good luck and God be with you in your journey.

I didn't know this was here either. I am a RN.... and dog-gone proud of it. I had surgery 7/22/03 and have lose 132#. I went from 267# to 135# in 1 year and 2 weeks.... I would do it again, and have recommended the surgery to others. I have so much more energy, and my feet don't hurt like they use to..... I started my WLS journey in December 2002, with my initial consulatation with Dr, Skogerson in Carson City, Nevada.... and had surgery July 22, 2003, reaching my goal on August 6, 2004. I started my BSN program in February 2002 and finished my BSN in October 2003.... . (I have been a RN since 1990 with my ASN.....) Hoping to meet more RN's who are losers like me.... :amgel: Rebecca Wilson Janesville, CA 267/135/GOAL
