Hi all, I am an RN, and I also am scheduled for surgery on 2/10/2005! I am excited and nervous at the same time! I have worked in lots of different areas - ICU, med/surg, tele, home health, and hospice. I got out of hospital nursing because of the hours and the fact that my body couldn't deal with standing all the time. I am getting my master's in nursing to become a family nurse practitioner. I have 1 1/2 years left of the program. I am hoping that after I am recovered from surgery, I can do some PRN shifts through an agency while I finish my master's degree. Nursing is my 3rd career and the one I am sticking with! I would love to work with WLS patients after I get my master's, maybe in a clinic setting and doing research as well. We will see where the jobs are! Cris

Hey, welcome! Congrats on the surgery date. It is right around the corner. You must be very excited. That is great about going for your master's and working with WLS patients. Giving back and all plus being compensated. Can't ask for much more than that. Good luck with your journey. I am sending positive energy and good wishes your way for a successful surgery. Glad you're here. Nancy

Your surgery date is near! Good luck. One of the great things about nursing is that there are so many areas to work that there's something for every taste. The PRNs should tide you over nicely while you get your graduate degree. Jeanie DS 02/11/05
