Roll Call
I have been a RN since 2003. Went directly into L&D. I absoulutely love it! I work evening shift. I love the people I work with, the shift sucks for my kids and husband, but it's what works for our family at this time.
I had open RNY by Dr. Aguirre in Ensenada MX. I had absolutley wonderful care and would go back in a heart beat. I am down 97lbs with my 1 yr anniversary around the corner.

Hi, all!
I'm new to the board, as I see many of you are. I've been a nurse for 10 years, but did EMT and teching before that. Worked in dialysis, chronic and acute, for several years and for the past 4 have been in ICU. We do medical and surgical, and I really love the variety of cases we see. We moved to Arizona from Michigan 3 years ago when my husband graduated from nursing school and now he is doing med/surg ortho post op. Our children are grown and health care is a second career for both of us, so we bring lots of life experience to our field (that is code for saying we're OLD)!
I am working toward a lap band as this surg seems to have the least amount of complications and we've all heard and seen the worst case scenarios of gastric bypass gone wrong! I'd like to lose as fast as those folks do, but I'm not willing to risk the leaking, malabsorption, etc that they do.
Any other thoughts on this?
Glad to have this forum to discuss our thoughts!
Bonnie

Hello all,
I am a Certified Nurse-Midwife and am in Winston-Salem North Carolina. I am from Georgia. recieved my BSN in 1990 from the Medical College of Georgia. My MSN was from Emory in Atlanta.
Saw a post from someone in Macon Ga...lived there for a year and near there for a long time.
Having surgery Monday April 25...not afraid of anything but the N&V. I HATE to throw up..dont do it very gracefully....Im that patient you all hate..the one who bellows and moans...nothing quiet about me..I am envious of those folks who can "puke" queitly.
Had breat reduction 3 years ago and went home in 4 hours evern though I had staples half way around my body and couldnt open my eyes....Hope this goes well too.

Hey Susan,
My name is Meg, you may have seen an earlier post from me. I moved to Macon in 1992, have been working at The Medical Center since 1990! I have worked in OB since 1990, however, currently work fulltime as the nurse manager of an Interventional Radiology department. I'm proud of your nurse-midwifery accomplishment--I had the same dream for a long time.
Your name sounds soooo familiar--wonder if in the past we might have met one another????
Congratulations on your upcoming sugery. You are going to do well!! I never had nausea or vomiting in my immediate post-op period. Hopefully, you will not either!! I wish you a smooth surgery and quick recovery!! Feel free to contact me with any questions or just to chat. Again, congrats--soon you'll be on the losing side!!!!

New to ObesityHelp and a first year RN student in a two year program. Working hard to arrange my surgery for just after this year's finals, so I can heal through the summer and shock everyone in the fall. Hoping to go into ER, but I will be happy just to be nursing, and helping people.
Sincerely,
Sharon
