I want to have this done via Lap but my surgeon won't do it. should I go to his partner or should I just do it as scheduled. I keloid and am really afraid of the scar. mr Doc just started doing the surgery via Lap and dosen't feel comfortable doing it on patients over 300 lbs yet. I could see his partner but it will be at least a month what do you think

You know what to do......... Be your own advocate, we do it for our pts all the time. If you want lap and are willing to wait, go for it. I waited to apply until our doc had been doing laps for over 6 months, he's done tons of other laps...choles etc. Good luck!

thanks guys, I know I should be an advocate for myself. way to put me in nurse mode. I appreciate all that you have said and I will consider all. I have made an appointment to see that partner but I cannot see him untill may. I will talk to his secretary and maybe get squeezed in so I can ask a few questions. thanks again

if its possible call the partners office and ask to be put on the cancellation list if you can get to the office in a hurry. Like the other posters said, you know what you have to do. And all of us do this to feel better but there is the physical appearance aspect to it. You have to ask do you want to wear skimpy little tops or a bikini where a scar might show... I have a 4 inch scar that didn't heal very well and I am using mederma and might have to have plastic surgery to correct it. Just some additional info to consider... good luck
