Research Project

Hi RNs everywhere- I had my RNY in 2000. At that time, 1998-9 I did all the medline/medscape searches and there really wasn't much info out there. Things are changing I am an RN 20 years/ certified Psych mental health I am doing a research project on RNY and gastric banding. I am looking at long term weight loss, what types of support most people have, if the suppport was supportive or more like dysfunctional AA meetings, if sites like this are more or less helpful than the group meetings the doctors provide, things like this. Also including what kinds of problems folks had I have a questionaire that I e-mail out. I will not use anyone's name without permission. The responder can be as complete as they like or just give one/two word answers I would truly appreciate your input...I have gotton some great replys but demographically need more participants Please help me....thanks Di O'Brien, Or

Hello Di, I am a wf, 37y/o. been an RN for 7 yrs. I have been a preoperative WLS instructor for the patients for over 4yrs and I am on the Barriatrics Committee at my hospital. RI Hospital in Providence, RI. I have done a few project with the WLS population (nothing that is publishable YET!!!) I am also preop for July 5th for an RnY GBP.
