Hi It was great to find a message board for nurses. :clap I have been a nurse for 24 years and battleing my weight for twice as long. I am scheduled for lap rny on the 25th of this month. I am using GW University in Washington DC. I am planning on being out of work for 2 weeks we shall see. I am a research nurse for breast cancer so I don't have any heavy lifting etc. to do. It's mainly admin and lab work. Look forward to more posts. Take care and good luck to all the pre and post ops Lori Malady (237 MD) :angel

Lori, Congratulatons on your surgery. I agree it is wonderful to find a message board for nurses. I am 19 months postop RNY-lap and am down 211lbs. What a difference it has made in my life. I hope your surgery went well and your recovery is on track. Take time for yourself. Nurses are the worst at this task as you know. I needed naps at first and am really glad I did it. My only regret is not starting and sticking to the exercise plan. It is crucial to maintain the lean muscle. If you need a source for protein, I order from Bariatriceating.com. It is easy and they are wonderful to work with. The IDS cappacinno is my favorite. Take care, Robin

WOW you go girl Robin, 211 pounds that is awesome I came through surgery fine, today I think I overdid a bit. Went to the Baltimore Aquarium. Did alot of walking, took breaks but my left side is sore tonight. I plan to take it easy tomorow and I won't be back at wor****il at least Wed next week (maybe). Thanks for the thoughts chat soon. I used the same site, I like the nectar proteins. I tried the ones from GNC Isopure, they are tolerable mixed with juice, I didnt like the after taste. Take care Lori

Hi Lori, I am glad to hear you are doing well. It is funny you mention left side pain. In our group it is called trocar pain. Most of us get it just because. It is always in the area where the jp was. Take it easy and don't push yourself to hard. Keep in touch, Robin
