My area (currently Baton Rouge, LA) is in desperate need of RNs! We have a great majority of the evacuees that survived the hurricane and are now needing medical treatment. We are also getting the evacuated hospital patients... I walked into the hospital, presented a license... and started working in ER within 1 hr! If any of you can do it... Summit Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA is desperate for RNs of all specialties. We are lining conference rooms and hallways with patients in need of emergent care. We are treating everything from exposure to the flood (cholera, toxic chemicals, corpses, sewrage, and more in tha****er) to patients with days on end sitting on rooftops withou****er... heart and diabetic patients who couldn't get to meds for many days.... oxygen dependant patients who have had to "just do without" when theirs ran out and they were stranded... Please, anyone who is able, we need volunteers *AND* temporary (paid) positions are available. Please contact Summit Hospital or Baton Rouge General Hospital.

Kat, I've been thinking about you. I wish I could help but I'm the only one working right now putting hubby and step-son through nursing school. My prayers are with you all.

Perhaps if the need still exists after my surgery, I would be more than happy to come and help. God Bless and good luck! Kelly
