No Complications

My surgery is over and I am home recovering. Surgery went real smooth w/o any complications. I did a lot of walking the day of surgery and the two days that followed in the hospital and even still now. I feel real good. I have not experienced a whole lot of pain just some discomfort. I have minimal bruisning, the bruising that I do have came from the lovenox injections. My dr and nurses were suprised at how much I was up walking around the hospital. I was pretty bored. My biggest problem right now is learning how to sip my fluids instead of gulping them. The hospital staff were fabulous. Which I am a pretty tough critic since I am a nurse. Everything went really good. Now It's up to me to eat right and get out and exercise. For those of you who are waiting to have your surgery. Get up and start walking right away. It helps relieve the gas pains in your shoulders and neck. Best wishes to everyone and Thanks to all of you who sent me encouragements. They made a world of difference. God Bless. Tammy

Tammy, Congrats! Sounds as if your surgery went as smooth as mine did and of course being a nurse we tend to be cautious and watch everything going on around us! Anyway, best of luck on your journey and keep us posted!! Debi

I am so exited for you! The difference it makes. I am 6 months post op. HW 214 at 4'10", size 3x on the bottom, XL-1x on top SW 197 CW 122 size 14 petite on bottom, petite small on top (almost into an xsmall) GW surgeon 130 GW mine 102 Take things slow and easy. Walk, walk, walk. Which you are already doing great at! Sip, Sip, Sip. I used medicine cups per the docs orders for the first few weeks to keep me from gulping. Our doc says 30 ml every 15 minutes while awake. Always trust what your body tells you. My original surgeon didn't take my nausea seriously. The replacement doc took me to the OR and found twisted, looped bowel and 4 hours worth of lysis of adhesions. A week in the hospital and a g-tube later, things are getting better. Welcome to the losing side. You are in for one of the most wonderful journeys of your life! Heather
