Congratulations! My prayers go out to you for a safe and quick recovery! I had my surgery eight months ago and am so glad that I did it. I have so much more energy. I feel like I have gotten my life back again! Let us all know how things go! Be patient with the nurse's while you are in the hospital, they say we make the worst patients. I actually think the nurses appreciated me that I didn't ask them for the petty things that sick patients ask for. Best wishes! Diana

Congratulations on your date Melannie. My thoughts and prayers will be with you for a speedy recovery. I am still waiting for my approval and date. You should a have FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) request that you can use to go off work. I believe it is Federally mandated for all states. God Bless and keep us posted on how your doing. Wishing you the best Tammy

Congrats on your date Melannie! I just told them at work that I needed 6 weeks FMLA and they can't say a word to you. I did tell a few people including my manager but otherwise I just went on my way. Do you work in the Hosp or an office? I am sure an office would be a lot harder to get the time off from. Best to you Jen 243/178/140

Maybe to late but here goes... Impaired mobility r/t decreased range of motion from new surgical incision Impaired nutritional status r/t inability to ingest solid foods Potential for dehydration r/t decreased fluid intake Impaired body image r/t new expectations of self post op Pain, actual r/t recent surgical intervention Oh gosh I could go on and on! I have been an RN for 14 years! How I loved all the Bull S@%# of nursing school! I use to write so many of these crazy nursing dx that my instructors would tell me to stop! Let me know what you came up with and how your care plan did! Jen

Yes, I had similair problems post-op and was placed on pepcid...I am now 10 weeks post op and haven't needed it for a week or so and from what I have heard from others, that is fairly common. Debbie
