Cathie, Angela really covered the situation well. You could also look into working within the school system although you will need at least a BSN with a school nurse cert. But now is the time to continue with your education especially with the many schools are now doing classes through the internet. Good luck to you!! Huggs, Karen

Topic: RE: Found the RN board!
Hi Kat, I did not know there was an RN board even though I have it on my profile. You are quite an inspirational young woman. I am happy too as well to find others who we can communicate with in the terms that I am used to. You all sound great. Too bad New Orleans is no where near Chino, CA so I hope you all had a great time!! Huggs, Karen

Topic: HAPPY NURSE'S WEEK
Happy Nurse's Week to all of us who work long hours, many 12 hour shifts in a row and often are too tired to do much else. I am happy to be associated with all of you especially at this time in my life. I have been a critical care/emergency RN for 23 years. I am really surprised that I even made it that long. But I digress, to all of you men and women in the nursing field I tip my hat to all of you . Huggs, Karen

Maybe you should move to Phila or NY to increase your salary> Good luck with all that OT sweet dreams Joanne

Topic: RE: Let's talk about risks...
Bonnie, I had my lap RNY 10 days ago. I decided on the lap RNY because of the long term results. I did well. I have not had to take my BP meds or my DM meds since my surgery 10 days ago. My BP yesterday at my GYN/pap visit was 118/70. I was taking Glucoadvance 500 2 tabs bid. My surgars are normal. I have had no nausea or vomiting and am eating soft foods and drinking without problems. I had some bowel problems post op in the hosptial....you know that big "have you passed gas?" question we always asked surgery patients??? My answer was "no" for 4 days. Causes some discomfort but no long term problems.. Feel great. The way I decided???? I knew I was going to have heart problems or go on insulin very soon if I didnt do something. Susan 10 days post op
