WOO HOO Indeed! Best of luck! And take plenty of time off after to heal up completely......I made that mistake with my hysterectomy! Back to lift patients tooooo soon! And yes, I now have that alien sticking out of my gut.....call it a hernia!

Hello Fellow Nurses!
Just found this board.......how wonderful! I'm an RN spent my time in the trenches on the cardiac units....recovered open heart/cath lab....moonlighted in home care. I practiced from 1986 to 1999 and loved every minute of it.....until menopause! LOL!
I've been in grad school for the past 2 years, after taking a computer science degree, to become a special ed teacher......and I love this, but I'm a nurse in my heart.
I'm scheduled for the RNY on 5/24/05 and am thrilled to finally get an insurance card that the weight I lose will stay off! How many times has my heart been broken after losing a 100-150 pounds and turning around to find it again! So here's to freedom.....finally!

Does your insurance pay for the LapBand? Good luck on getting your surgery that soon. I started in Jan and still don't have a date but am hoping for June/July.

Thanks for the reply and the encouragment!! You know whats hilarious? I thought EVERYONE wanted to be a flight nurse!! Not so much..I'm finding out!!!
