Glad you're doing well Jeanie. Did you know you were going to be on a vent? What was the need for it? One of those things I never thought about. uggggggg

Howdy down there in Austin. A few years ago before my facility starting doing the WLS it was very hard to get approved, now that we do it, the approval seems to go very well. Hope I didn't just jinx myself, LOL On the other hand you can always check around and see how the coverage is at different facilities in the area, I'm sure it's not hard to change jobs in a bigger city. Good luck

Good luck on getting your approval for WLS. I'm working on it myself. And don't worry about being able to get back into nursing, a license and a pulse is about all you need nowadays, LOL.

Hi Vivian! Good luck with nursing school. It's hard work but so rewarding. I've been researching Lap-Band and RNY for 6 months or so. This website is a great find. Lot's of great info. My favorite part is the surgeon reviews. Good luck with everything. Caryl

Hi, Vivian. There is a lot of information out there, so take your time and learn as much as you can about the diffferent surgeries. I'm 2 weeks post-op from having the DS and I'm doing well. Jeanie in MO DS 02/12/05 "Duodenal Switch: My New Beginning"

Hi .... I am a RN student in Syracuse, NY....Also just beginning my journey by researching RNY....I have been refered by my pcp....so the fun begins.... I have to admit i am very scared....not of the actual surgery but of the complications... I am a single mom of a 5 year old, and i dont want to leave her alone in this world, at the same time, I am 371 lbs and 35. I want to live life with her....and watch her grow up...and i dont know that it will happen the way things are now.... so, here I am trying to get all the info I can....and support too.. thanks to all vivian
