For protein shakes have you tried Unjury. This protein drink has 20 grams of protein, 3g carb per scoop. I personally love the vanilla. I use that with milk. Unjury has 3 flavors: Vanilla, Chocolate and Unflavored. I think their website is www.unjury.com. One of our post op support groups members buys it in bulk and sells it to whomever for a lower price. I am 1 1/2 weeks post op and doing very well. Hope this information helps you.

Hey Anne,
I got my date too...June 27th. I just had to write cuz I haven't seen any other nurses from Michigan on this site. I used to stop at Pinconning for cheese and beef jerky every year on my way up to our cottage in the U.P. Ahhh, memories.

I have been roaming through this Obesity.com site for a while and just found this site-its great. Today I found out my surgery will be Aug 4th. Am excited, but nervous. Have about 15 pounds to loose yet-and now will have a new surgeon, as Dr. Lane at BTC in Ypsi is leaving. New surgeon Dr., Poplawski-looks like an okay guy from what I read. I'll try to catch this site more often==look forward to learning lots from you all!

Thanks for the words of support im getting nervous as the date is approaching fast we just had a death last night in our are from gastric bypass not at my hospital but close by makes you kind of scared. thanks for your support Barb

gee i feel bad for you.... when i had my surgury nine years ago they just said you are a diet failure and you are approved. i didnt have to diet before surury. however it was a culture shock to not be able to eat after surg i went banannas missing food. prob a good thing to try now. hang in there trust me it is worth it

i had my surgury nine years ago and dont regret it one bit. It has given me a new life. It gave me confidence, happiness, health and lots more. If you ever have any questions feel free to ask.

Willi thanks so much for your words of support it great to hear from a fellow nurse who is new postop and doing well gives support that if you can do it i can too. congrats on your weight loss and for words of advice. stay in touch will be glad to hear how your getting along and diffently the skinny angel is watching over you hope to see you on the losing side soon.
