I am eating what I am suppose to, not cheating. I guess, I have been overweight so long, the couple days without a weight loss is making me worried. Can anyone else share there weight loss patterns with me when they were early on in their postop period? Thanks Connie

You should only be weighing yourself once a week... if you weigh yourself each day you have to be prepared for the scale not to move every single day. Its hard to compare yourself to others since everybody loses weight differently. Did you surgeon tell you what to expect in the way of weightloss monthly??? I am a lightweight at the time of my 2 week pre-op I had 100lbs to lose. I lost 14 on the liquid diet and another 4 by the time I got out of the hospital. For the first 2 weeks post-op I didnt lose one single pound. Since then I had a 3lb loss then a 4lb loss. I do weigh myself daily but I have for years... I will go 3-4-5 days and the scale wont move then it will but I know thats expected! Hope this helps

Hi Connie, I had a lot of "holding patterns" in my nine months since my surgery. Your body is trying to adjust and is in shock. The body has very interesting ways of holding onto every little pound when it's not getting what it's used to. Keep doing what your doing; it will happen. Check out my homepage and you can read about the plateaus I hit (so often). Before you know it, it will be nine months down the road and your loss will be successful. Every pound adds up in time. Keep the faith, I know it's discouraging, I've been there (as have the rest of us) - but remember it's all part of the process. Sincerely, Jan 298/154/135

I'm in the same boat, I have lost a total of 40lbs, but the last 3 days I haven't lost even a pound. I don't understand either, my surgery was on the 22nd of June.

Hi Connie - I also "stalled" early on, and tend to not show loss on the scale for a while then suddenly drop down pounds. I'm now about 9 1/2 months out, and have lost 107 pounds...but I'm always wondering at each stall if it (or I) am broken, etc. Try to have patience, follow the rules, and I bet you'll be fine! Connie, Your scale is not a very nice friend sometimes (just like your old munchy foods). Thry to put it away fo awhile. You will be so happy when you go back to it it a couple of weeks and see a big drop. After steady loss for 9 weeks, I went 3 with NOTHING. I knew that old scale was setting me up for failure, so I put it in the garage for a few days. This week, I couldn't stand it any more and got on and what a nice surprise to see it had moved again.

Connie; It is very normal for weight loss to stall sometime between week 3 and week 6. Your body is healing from major surgery and will rebel for a week or two. Don't freak out. It happens to nearly everyone. I didn't start weighing everyday until I was 4-5 months post-op. Before that, I was a strict once a week girl. Being a slave to the scale can mess with your mind in the early days. Blessings, Jennifer 253 / 159 / 137

Connie, I am now having that problem, and like others it will come off. I seem to stand still until the end of the month. It will be better if you are working out if you are aloud. Eat your softfoods and many many popcicles. I am almost 7 months out and have lost 80 pounds and 74 four inches!!. But, it has been work, work, work out at the gym I go to curves 3 times a week. When you work out the skin does not seem to sag much at all. And the inches melt away. Again, everyone is so different. Time and patience. Donna
