I had my surgery on May 1,2006. I lost 63 lbs so far, but my doctor just told me to eat strictly protein, because Im at a stand still. I can only eat so much chicken and turkey. Does anyone have any suggestions or recipes of other things to eat. Or maybe recipes for chicken. Thanks

I went to GNC and bought the AnyWhey product. Each scoop is 17 grams of protein and I add it to mashed potatoes, soups, cottage cheese and pudding. I'm getting all my protein in just a half cup of each item & 1 cup of soup. The AnyWhey has no taste so you just have the flavor of whatever you put it in. Congratulations on the weight loss. I'm only 4 weeks out and lost 32 lbs. (maybe more but I don't weight myself til tomorrow).

63 pounds! Good for you, Joannie! Try tuna...that and peanut butter on saltines saved me when I first started and couldn't stand the thought of any more chicken! I also would supplement a lot with Isopure Zero Carb protein shakes. They have flavors beyond chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. Frankly, I HATED chocolate after a few weeks of having nothing but chocolate protein shakes. Isopure is great, tastes good and has 50 grams of protein...I usually only do 1 scoop at 25 grams...it saves money AND your body can only assimilate so much protein at a given time. Since I put it in skim milk, I got protein from that as well. Mellie

Tuna - 21 grams of protein in 3 oz! (I eat it on Whole Wheat Wheat Thins with some cheese - sooo good and TONS of protein!!) Cheese - there are mozz cheese sticks that are 9g each stick Veggie Chili - Amy's Oraganic makes a good one... add some cheese/sour cream Cottage Cheese - 12g 1/2 cup Yogert - most have 4-6g in a cup Refried Beans - add some cheese/sour cream Natural Pnut Butter Eggs - make quiche/omelet/scrambled... add cheese, sausage, veggie sausage, ham, spinach - whatever you like! Chicken - I take 2 chicken breasts, 1 pkg of low sodium taco seasoning (or use fajita), 1/2 jar salsa (I use a can of Rotel instead) and put in the crock pot... makes yummy shredded chicken after about 5 hours - can use as a taco/burrito fiiler. Also add black beans, kidney beans etc to it if you want! I have more receipes at home if you would like them email me and let me know!

I had my surgery on May 23rd and just recently tried the grilled vegetagle boca burgers. They have 13 grams of protein. I add a piece of low fat cheese (5 grams protein) some tomato (very thin) and onion (very thinly sliced) and I can eat almost the entire burger. I found it to be one of the tastiest foods I've had in the past 2 months. I also dip it in thousand isalnd dressing. Yummy! I also do protein smoothies using the Isopure Zero Carbs. I add 1/2 yogurt, 1/2 banana, 3 splenda, 5 ounces water or skim milk and a cup of ice with one scoop of protein powder (25 grams). It is very refereshing. Hope this helps. hugs, lisa
