You know WLS is the best thing I have ever done but now my appetite has increased. I am not losing weight and at a stand still. Some of it is my fault but I also know that I can weigh every little thing and still not go down. I hope I am going to lose more weight for i am only down 180 and want to be 140 so hopefully things will work out. i am 6 months out and just want to know has anyone else experienced a stand still like this.

I'm only five weeks out, but from reading these forums, I have learned that when you get to about 6 months out, you start to crave food again and have to fight it really hard. You didn't mention exercise, but if you're not exercising, perhaps some would be beneficial to you at this point. I too fear that dreaded 6-month road block. But, I'm glad that I know about it, so I can at least brace myself. Good luck, and please keep us posted. If you do something special to break it, I want to know so when I get there, I will know what to do.

You didnt state how long you were at a "stand still". A plateau is when you do not lose weight for 4 weeks or longer. For most - the closer you get to goal the slower the weight loss is going to be. You said some is your fault and you can weigh every little thing and the scale isnt moving... but are you eating too much? not eating enough? getting your protein in? getting your fluids in? are you eating enough carbs/fat?? Try going back to basics - write down what you are eating, make sure you are not grazing... are you getting your exercise in?? If you are stalled for 4 weeks or longer I would think about calling the NUT and making an appt to have them go over what you are eating and see if they can help. Everybody at some point or another deals with issues such as these - just have to take control and move forward

Hi Alisha. Up the protein, the water, and the exercise and keep weighing the food if that works for you and you will see a difference again. And yes most everyone hits several plateaus during the journey. I have too. Good luck. Robin
