HI Everyone, Well i had my surgery with Dr Kennedy on April 30th and i came home this afternoon. Thank goodness. I had the worst roommate. An older lady with parkensons bless her heart. Sweetest family but not good for recouporation.  So needless to say the first thing i did when i got home was go for a nice walk then took a nap. Just got up about 15 mins ago. Surgery went well. I will admit if you can not be on your period during the process it is way more convient. But that did get me up a whole lot sooner.  I spent the first night in recovery.  No clocks no windows etc. was pretty good got up and sat in a wheel chair for an hour just to get out of bed.  Cleaned up and went back to bed.  Next morning did swallow test. That went great.  Got to my real room w/ roommate.  Started drinking water later that afternoon. Was up most of night w/ dramam in next bed. Slept here and tere. This morning i did wake up feeling a bit better. Probably because they said they might send me home. ;o) Got some SF jello and Broth down with no issues...... sipped spiiped spiiped and walked a bunch.  So they let me leave.  Slept on the way home and then had a great nap. Even figured out how to sleep on my side already. Yeahhhhhhh. My inscisions don't really hurt....... No pain meds for me but some liquid tylenol when we got home for a headache.  My tummy only is sore when i yawn or cough. but nothing major.       Dr K said i am diong very vey well........ Will see her again in two weeks. Ok off to go lay back done starting to yawn some more. Will check back in tomorrow. Micheel

Congtratulations and welcome home. We are surgery sisters - both had ours done on April 30th. I too had a crazy roommate. She was on 24hr surveillance so I had at least 20 people coming and going throughout the first night. Not fun but then I got switched. Ok - hope you are doing well.
