vaginal odor
Hi All.
I am pre op but i have obviously from being overweight same issues. But I use the Represh that you buy over the counter. Also, my doc suggested ussing the vinegar and water douche. One more thing there is a topical ointment you can get from doc that you kinda smear inside that helps tremendously.
hope this helps

I must say this is a surprising side effect to weight loss. I"m glad that it was posted but so much for transferring my addiction to food to a healthy sex addiction! Geez. I kid. No offense to anyone with that particular issue.
On the serious side... it must have a serious impact on your "social life" anyone have any info on when that horrible side effect is over? Bad breath and now this... pfft. Any way to prevent this?
Don't know about that, but lots of water will dilute your urine and anything else that your body is releasing. Your body is probably in ketosis and that means that you more than likely have a strong mouth odor too. Brush several times per day, floss, goggle with mouthwash like listerine, use mints and gum - sugar free. Your fat cells are shrinking, and your body is releasing estrogen and lord knows what else.
Try Eve's Feminine Wash. They have this for sensitive skin and it is fantastic. It is not a douche or anything. You'd use it the same way you would use soap. Also carrying some feminine wipes and using them when you use the bathroom helps too - Eve also puts these out for sensitive skin. They are individually wrapped.
We have to do what we have to get through each phase of this journey.

im not a doctor but I know when I had some odor of some sort it was after my 14 day diet (ATKINS) to lose weight to go to Jamaica for our 10 years anniversary....oh my GOD when I came back I went straight to my gyn it was definitely due to the ketosis diet which set my PH balance off... doc gave me some antibiotic and it all went away....
make sure you tell your doctor everything even the surgery you had it might ring a bell they are doctors not GOD...
Good Luck!

I am pre-op, so I don't know what the cause of the oder is, but I have solution that might help nevertheless. In addition to what the others suggest, you might consider shaving off ALL of your pubic hair. Whatever the cause of the odor, pubic hair will exacerbate it because the hair will act like a sponge and hold on to the odor. In addition, because you are likely to be working out and therefore sweating more, the odor and sweat combine with the help of bacteria to produce an even stronger, more foul-smelling odor. I know some women don't like to shave "down there" because it itches when it grows back, so you can choose to have a brazilian wax-ouch! If you are completely adverse to hair removal or to being completely "bald", maybe you can use scissors to carefully cut the hair to a low level. Another possibility is to remove hair with your preferred method so you are left with a "landing strip"- that way you won't feel so "exposed." Hope this helps...
