I'm dragging my arse on the floor I thought I had  got away with something, and here I am busted again. I think I have the "hives" from dragging my arse Ro Ro. I'm skipping my arse to the corner.  Joyce

I'm 4 weeks today from surgery. I had a weird reaction on my stomach that my doc had no idea what it was, so went with it being a fungal thing. I'm not sure if it's still that hanging on or what. I have an apt in Dec that I'll show it to him and see if it's still the same thing. I just know that I can't keep my hands off myself! I'll try the ice thing, maybe that'll make the blood flow calm down and it won't be so bad. Thanks!

Itching at the incicions is completely normal and is a GOOD thing - it's a sign the skin is healing over.  Where you'd have to worry is if you notice redness/color change or swelling. You don't want to actually "scratch" at them - as tempting as it seems -  You could try a vitamin E ointment vs. a lotion - the vitamin E is said to have an effect on minimizing scars, but more important, an ointment moisturizes just a tad longer than a lotion.  Something that helped me was to drag a wet washcloth over the area, let that "tickle" the skin rather than scratch at it - strangely enough, that would do the trick and get the itchy feeling to stop when I had the feeling that I just couldn't resist scratching at them.

Sometimes my incisions still itch, but usually my belly is itchy between the incisions. I have 2 thoughts about that. 1) internal healing, 2) skin shrinking.  I may be completely nuts on both counts, but it seems that if our skin can itch while it's stretching, it could itch while shrinking. If you are still taking the pain pills, that can cause so much itching.  You can scratch and scratch and it just doesn't help.  If you skin is dry, please remember you must be hydrated also.  A good lotion on your skin would help alot too. Good Luck, Phyllis

Phyllis, my name is Dedee. I have learned, it is best not to correct my cyber-friends....sometimes our hands type faster than we realize....for example:  You questioned someone on "mines"....hence, you have two replies on here with incorrect grammar.  They really stand out just as much, but I'm sure no one is questioning, b/c we all know EXACTLY what you meant.  Let's play nice and support ~smooches~ If you skin is dry, please remember you must be hydrated also. If you(R) skin is dry is was your intention, but those fingers, OH MY, they really do go faster than we think

I focus not on my disabilty; my focus is on my ABILITIES.

When Keta said "mines" she was referring to her stomache itching @ blue eyes.  Mines (urban terminology) is equalled out to mine is too.

Hi Az, I see that we had surgery about the same time. My tummy was itchy all last week. A warm wash cloth rubbed lightly on it helped big time.  Now, I have just a little itch now & then, but nothing to speak of. Are you on Phase III foods now? I get to be on Friday!! Have a good afternoon, Annie
