Anyone file a AFLAC claim recently? Did they cover?

I have AFLAC. I have the Personal Sickness Indemnity and the Accident.  Does anyone know if AFLAC will cover RNY?

Call them and ask.  I have state disability here in CA.  They covered after 7 days off and will cover my plastics time off too.

Hi,  My AFLAC policy covered all of my 6 weeks off after my 14 day waiting period.  So I got 4 weeks of payments.

I believe it was short term disability.

I asked those questions specifically when I bought my AFLAC. If you have the hospital plan, they don't really care what you were in for, but pay $xxx per day, according to your plan. I was in 4 days with my shattered arm, so if I'd been in with a new baby (not likely!) or for a gall bladder or for investigation, same, same, $xxx per day.

I also had accident and short term disab that kicked in. I had emergency surgery 2 states away. I sent in the accident form only, but my ppl put in the other policy numbers and they paid on everything I had covered. Huge surprise to me since I was in so much pain, I totally forgot what I had.

P.S.  My year + long absence has NOTHING to do with my WLS, or my type of WLS. See my profile.

This is SO interesting to me, because I totally forgot that I have Short term disability.... perhaps I ought to file a claim?!? Now I better put it on my to-do list....  Thanks for the reminder.

I didnt have AFLAC. wish I did!  But my city went with Colonial.  Lets see....my daughter broke her nose (had a 4 wheeler accident) and because the er dr said "looks like a possible nasal fracture" instead of it IS a nasal fracture, no pay...put in for my RNY, they do investigation to see if its a "pre existing condition" ummm, hello,  I didnt wake up fat the day before my surgery.., came back with "one day in 2006 you were seen with a blood pressure of 186/200 had we known this we would never have underwritten the policy, so therefore your policy is cancelled and we are refunding all moneys paid thus far..(which turned out to be as much as I expected the disability to be)..but relax, your accident policy is still in force.  Um, no it isnt, cause I wont allow another dime of my check to be sent to you. Click! So beware, thoroughly check out who you let your hard earned dollars to go to. I will now put that money into my flex account. Better for me! Laurie
