I get mine at GNC - its their brand Gold Standard 100% Whey.  I have the Strawberry and Double Chocolate.  Its good!  5 pds for $55 (they have a smaller one for $35).  Its worth it...makes the whole process easier when your protein tastes better.

I had to switch to Soy protien because the whey smell and taste gagged me and nauseates me.   Soy doesn't have a taste to me...Something to think about...

you can buy samples from vitalady. I'm not crazy about MOST types of protien, but you NEED it. Keep trying until you find something you can tolerate. I like Elite Whey protien. Mint chocolate flavor. IT's decent.  Get the samples and keep trying 'em. Your tastes will change a little over time too. For a long tme I disliked all the protiens I troed. I kept getting them in because my body needs that protien. And I'm at the point where I'm realizing food=fuel and it dosn';t even matter if I don't like it. I just drink it until it's gone then later eat something I DO like.

You might also want to consider getting some of the sugar-free coffee syrups to help change the flavor.  I use the milk chocolate Unjury power and add a cherry or hazelnut shot and have it over ice.  It helps a lot!

The greatest advice I got from this board was to drink them COLD!  Blend with ice or frozen fruit.
Check out Eggface/Michelle's blog for recipes.  That makes them bearable. Try with milk, soy milk, water or 1/2 water and milk.
also use a cup with some kind of top so you don't smell it as you drink it.
I like the nectar lemon tea flavor.  It actually tastes a bit like iced tea.  It is lighter that the vanilla or chocolate powder types.
I have gotten so much wonderful help from these boards!  These are the things that saved me.

I agree with the previous posts. The best advice is experiment but be flexible. What's good one day - won't be the next and your pouch doesn't care if you have 1/2 case or 3lbs left of that protein.
About the Nectar Drinks - I like to mix them with crystal light and very cold. If you mix/shake them tooo much they foam- and the foam tastes and smells nasty. Let it settle and then add ice. If you surgeon allows straws that helps with the smell of most protien if not try a blender bottle that keeps your nose away from the smell. This has just been my experience.

samples available at vitaminlady or bariatric eating.

Couple things for you.

www.vitalady.com Protein samples 1.99 1 serving of protein. I personally prefer the nectar and chocolate zero carb isopure. I mix them with flavored waters.

We do not absorb soy protein as well as whey protein so it isn't a good choice. Stick with whey protein if possible.

If you have to just chug a small portion down at  a time. make it with 4 oz of water. hold your nose.

Nectar also makes a peach or orange natural with stevia
