Peeps in Ohio, KY, IN & PA: You OK after the hurricane force winds???
Check in, please!
As for me, yesterday was hell. Those damn winds came out of NOWHERE about 2 pm ... and suddenly all hell broke loose!
Huge trees snapped in half like toothpicks. Power out EVERYWHERE in our area ... and they're saying it likely won't be restored for the remainder of the week. Have a boil and conservation advisory on water, Gas selling out, no ice to be found, no candles, either. And wouldn't ya know it ... we had just gone to the store and stocked the fridge yesterday morning!

Then I had to fly out at O'dark-thirty this morning (and, of course, I didn't sleep a wink, because I was worried my cell phone would go dead before my alarm went off), leaving poor DH to deal with both kids (all schools closed) and all the fallout. Poor guy!
AND ... I've been without connection to most of the outside world since yesterday, too. No TV, internet, etc. At least I had my new iPhone, but because OH doesn't have a WAP version of the site, I was SOL and couldn't post.
Then I get to the hotel and can't get the ****ty hotel internet to work either! Just spent 2 hours with tech support to finally get it to work (can you say internet addict?)

Oh well ... guess I have to count my blessings. No one was hurt and I'm in an Atlanta hotel room with power, air and internet now. Damn I feel for my hubby! I owe him big when I get back!

I hear ya!! The corn fields look horrible here in Northwest Ohio. It looks like some huge chopping blade gouged out acres and acres of corn. We finally got our internet back today. Power was unaffected. Everyone seems to be safe and sound, just wet. But, my Lord did we need some rain! Our yard is green again!! Glad your safe and hopefully others are too!!

Hey, Tracy -
We drove back from a few days in Washington D.C.yesterday afternoon and evening. Got home to no electricity and lots of branches down I was lucky and have no real damage to any of my property, and my power came back on really early this morning., but the Fayette county wa**** pretty hard. neither the county or city schools were in session today and tomorrow is questionable. a big portion of Washington Court House is still without power tonight. Have fun in Atlanta.

About 45 minutes of power outage here in Erie. Not so much rain, just a lot of howling wind. The only annoying thing was missing the second quarter of the Steeler game.
Certainly nothing compared to what others have gone through. I said to hubby, "We dealt with this for 45 minutes. Can you imagine how horrible it must have been and still must be in Houston?"
To all of those without lights, I feel for you. Had to live four days without power due to an electric company policy that was not my fault. You never know how you take power for granted until you don't have it.
