We all shared our turkey day goals.

Share your progress! Are you there yet?

My weight loss has tanked at 205.8 and won't BUDGE... I'm 0.9 pounds away from my goal! But I'm awful close to that goal, so I'm still hopeful that I will get there in time.

So how are YOU doing?

I made goal yesterday!  10 pds lost between 11/1-11/20.  I'll be waiting for your Christmas goal thread.  You will make it to goal Lithia!

I knew that the goal I set on that thread (which I wrote on 10/30) was a little overly ambitious. I had wanted to get from 178 to 169  because my BMI will be 29.9 at that weight which means I will officially "only" be overweight and no longer have a BMI in the obese category.

I'm losing, but probably not fast enough to make my goal. But hey, I am still happy to have lost something!

I had 2 goals...... be in a size that began with a 1 and to have a total loss of 100 pounds.  I reached a size 18 almost 2 weeks ago, but I am still at 98.2 pounds lost.  Come on 1.8 pounds.

I didn't post to that thread but I remember thinking it was a continuation of my Halloween goal that went unrealized of being in Onederland.  I have arrived.  My Christmas goals are the following:

1.  Be able to run for 20 minutes on the treadmill at 5.3 mph (I'm up to 16 minutes)
2.  Be able to do more than 30 lbs on arm curls (looking sketchy at this point)
3.  Integrate one new weight machine into my circuit (probably that contraption that works your inner thighs)

No weight loss associated goals.  At this point my weight loss is so sporadic that it's just setting myself up to be depressed.

I'm fine, but let me ask you this:

What's the purpose of these numerical goals? Are you going to change something if they aren't met? Celebrate something if they are?

My feeling is that if you eat according to your plan, every day, you made your goal-- regardless of what the idiot number box tells you on any given day. If you didn't do this to be a number-- why's the focus on a number? You're more or less at the mercy of what your body decides to let go of, once you're doing what you're supposed to do.

Just challeningin' ya--

LOL.... I have fun with the goals.... in a way it is really just me making "predictions" as to where I'll be on some random day, based on my knowledge of my weight loss to date. I like to make predictions, and it's more fun when I supposedly have some ability to make it a self-fulfilling prediction.

But if I don't make it, I shrug and that's okay too. No biggee... it's the striving for a goal that is often more important than the actual reaching of said goal!

I hit my Turkey Day goal on 11/16. My other goal was to take more pictures of family and also be in more pictures, something I am improving on. I even added a few to my profile.

As you can see by my signature it was to stop snacking on crap. I have gotten better, I now plan the snack. For example instead too many doritos, i will get a bag of baked and split it in 2 for an am/pm snack.
