Last night at support group a bunch of people were saying how much they loved the wii fit and that its a good way to get extra exercise... Well have been researching and looks fun.... also found a wii my fitness trainer... the big question is,... that board has to have some kind of weight limit.... lol ~ to get this i would also need the console, and whatever else you may need with it. honestly im completely clueless on the topic lol...  i dont have anything... i wouldnt want to go get it and then it not hold my weight or not work correctly because i weigh too much. im currently 325... does anyone know of the limits? and any feedback on the wii fit or the fitness trainer would be great! thanks a bunch!

Get out your checkbook honey cuz your in!!!!! The Wii Fit Balance Board will hold over 600 lbs. It won't weigh over 350 lbs (so your good). The Wii console will come with the Sports CD and the Wii Fit will come with the basic Wii Fit games. That's really ALL you need to get started. The Sports CD has bowling tennis boxing baseball....something else..can't remember right now. The Wii Fit has Hula Hoop, Balance games, step aerobics, walking games....They're all LOTS of fun! If your not already pretty physically fit then these games will be plenty to get started. So get your hiney to the store and find you a Wii!!!!

Sounds like the other poster is a pro, but I had read the Wii Fit had a 300 lb weight limit. The blog I was reading talked about putting the board on towels to get it to weigh you or it won't let you play. Not sure at all, but I was going to say that just doing the tennis, bowling and holy cow, the boxing--PHEW!--are really quite a nice way to get moving. I was sweating my butt off boxing.

I hope the OP is right and the weight limit is 350 cause I may cave and go get the Wii Fit myself.

Enjoy!

Denise

I just looked it up and it says it is a 330 weight limit here in the USA. (Japan is 300 which is how I got confused). Anyway, you are good to go. It did say that the board will hold up to 600, but will not let you play until you are under the weight limit. Enjoy!

LOL! Denise, I was just coming back to post that I went in and rechecked and that it was 330.  This is off the Wii site: A lot of gamers want to know how much the Wii Balance Board can carry. A NeoGAF member purchased Wii Fit with the Wii Balance Board and the game told him he was too heavy and it wouldn’t register his Mii-character. The Wii Balance Board is supporting up to 660 lbs, Wii Fit supports weights up to 330 llbs and the NeoGAF guy trying out the game was 350 lbs and 6′8″ tall. There are many other gamers who can’t play Wii Fit because they are too heavy. We sure hope that Nintendo will publish another Wii Balance Board in the future that has a higher weight limit. If Nintendo doesn’t do it, a third party publisher will certainly do it anyway.

go for it!!!

Yes... I'm a total nintendo fanboy and I can attest that the board can hold up to 660 no problem.  (it's designed to allow a 330 person jump up and down on it)

That's one of my big goals... I have 107 lbs to go... hopefully by the summer I'll be able to Wii Fit with the rest of y'all

And incase any of you out there who are over the 330 limit... there's a new Wii game coming out by EA.  It comes with Resistance bands (included)

Here's a link to it

I HIGHLY reccomend reserving a copy NOW.  It's only 59.99, but if Oprah catches wind of it then it'll fly off the shelf ^_^

That looks awesome!!! I didn't see when it was coming out--do you know? I just looked quick, but didn't see either if there is a mat or what. Very cool.

With that I don't know that I'd bother with Wii fit.

Take care!

Denise

Wii system is $249.00 and the Wii Fit game is $89.00. Wii Fit has several different types of exercise: Yoga, Strength, Aerobics and Balance. Aerobics are cool because the very first thing they have you doing is HULA HOOP...Now that's my idea of a great aerobic exercise to start with. I'm up to the jogging in place, middle distance. You can start out slowly and work your way up.

The Balance is cool too. My favorite is the soccer heading...Good stuff. I still get myself hit by shoes and stuff...dh loves to watch me and LAUGH hard! Love the ski jump too.

I hope you can get one. It's really fun! We have Wii Sport too and my favorite game on that is BOWLING...LOL. yup. Bowling.
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

It is a fun way to exersice but it keeps telling me I am obese and when I step on the board it sighs. My balance is not good and it askes me if I have trouble walking.I am slowly trying more of the games but I am happy with it so far.

LOL maybe I better not get it... if it sighs at me and gets all mouthy I may put a shoe through the big screen tv

It really does look like fun though! I just told the hubby I need one
