pureed, thinned out clam chowder at 7 days post op?
Follow the doc advice about what you should - should not be eating
Is it on a list? if not - stay away from it

Creamed soups...nope. Too many carbs, fat, too much everything. Your pouch is still healing and tender. Stick to what the doctor ordered - even though it may suck at the moment. Do you have Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies? It is a pretty good book with lots of info about foods etc. Having said that though, please follow your doctor's instructions before mine or a books or anyone else's advice. My best too you.
well my surgeon's post op booklet says mix protein powder or nonfat dry milk powder with blenderized lowfat soup that's been thinned with skim milk.
i just blenderized 3 tsp of regular progresso clam chowder and mixed it with vegetable broth. i'm so scared after eating a few bites that i put it to the side. it tastes too good to be true.

Well....like I said, you have to listen to your surgeon and since that is what they said was okay, then I think you did the right thing in trying it. All any person posting here can do is give you thoughts on their own experience and what they have been told. Always refer to your own doctors guidelines.
I remember the first time I had something that was not broth, cottage cheese, protein shake or popsicle like it was yesterday and it was heaven to my mouth. Don't be scared. If the few bites sit okay I would say you are golden. My best to you.

Different strokes for different folks!
I'm 5 days out. I was on a clear liquid diet for only TWO days after my surgery, my last meal at the hospital on the morning of day three (the day I left) was LOW FAT CREAM OF MUSHROOM SOUP, sugar free vanilla pudding and apple juice. My meals at home have consisted of cream of wheat, low fat cream of mushroom/chicken/celery soups, sugar free, low fat yogurt and low fat cottage cheese. hence, I don't think that little bit of strained clam chowder will hurt you, but if your doctor says you shouldn't, he probably has a good reason (maybe he knows something my doctor doesn't) so better do as he says from now on.
