If anything came out of this thread it is this: You wont pick up a piece of greasy pizza ever again without thinking about it! I never said I don't eat pizza. You took it and ran with it because you are so scared to be deprived of your precious pizza. Ever wonder why your so defensive?

OMG, who are you…Dr. Phil??? Judgmental much? Notice you described it as “greasy" pizza instead of just a slice of pizza. That, to me, denotes that YOU have some sort of beef with pizza, not her. Again, please don’t project your issues onto other people. I have done that on this board and BELIEVE ME…it never leads anywhere good.

And I’ll be the one to say it…I am defensive of my pizza! Why? Because I like it. And I deserve to, every once in a while, have something I like. I take care of two kids by myself with no help, I work, I study, I run a business, I work out (a lot), for the most part I stick to the plan prescribed before me so if every once in a while I find enjoyment out of a piece of pizza…why exactly is that bad? The pizza is not my God, I don’t worship it (although if I tried to deny myself I probably would go into that mode). I don’t think about it all day every day, I don’t even overdo it. I have a slice, every now and again. And I will “defend" my right to do that—to have FOOD that I eat for ENJOYMENT not simply FUEL until the day I die. Thus far it hasn’t hurt my progress. I lost the weight. I have a nice figure. I am generally a happy person (except when defending preachiness). At six months I had pizza. I did not overdo it and it did not stop the weight loss. So go figure!

What is good for you, what works for you, what triggers you, what bothers you DOES NOT APPLY TO EVERYONE ELSE! I don’t yell often but your whole judgmentalist attitude just…reeks.

I’m done with this subject because I think continuing to address it is validating it and this is just ridiculous.

If anyone has a Dr. Phil mentality tis you miss nik. Who keeps coming back for more feeling the need to throw their ten cents in when I was replying to someone else post?

Projection....it is a terrible thing. I'm not talking about pizza anymore. But for this I have no beef with you. So have a nice day!

Thank you! You said it perfectly!

Ok, I'm off to see if there is any greasy pizza left in the fridge. (LOL!)

You say, "I had weight loss surgery so I could eat like a normal person. Normal people sometimes have pizza, they just don't eat it in the quantities that an obese person would. "

What I don't get about this rationale is that we are NOT normal people.  We will never be normal people, because we will always be people who had to undergo MAJOR SURGERY to stop being 250-300+ pounds.  It's just like a sober alcoholic is still an alcoholic, and they still react differently to alcohol than I might.  Well, I'm always gonna react differently to food than "a normal person."

There's one distinct difference here--- NO ONE needs to drink alcohol-- so cold turkey's a possibility--- but  we all have to eat food. So learning management instead of swinging a pendulum from feast to famine is invaluable.

I feel exaclty the same way... my extended family does not know I had WLS. At family functions I can have a bit of what everyone is eating (no dumping from fats carbs or sugars here). I just appear normal.  they think I eat less because I am dieting... it is win win for me!!

I do eat low carb tortilla pizzas (mission brand low carb white flour tortillas are the best - they taste yummier than their regualr kind!!).  Those I eat on a fairly regualr basis - when I order pizza for the kids etc.  I make those - heck my 3 and 4 yr old prefer to make their wn tortilla pizzas - it is fun!! But if I am out with friends or having family pizza night at the in-laws, I do have one slice of regular pizza minus the crust. (Which is my hubbys fave so he loves this situation!!)

Feeling normal is wonderful!!

I also heart tortilla pizzas. Have you tried making a low carb tostada? My kids are ADDICTED to that. We pile up a taco sized tortilla with grilled chicken breast, fat-free refried beans, red onions, peppers and some mexican blend cheese and pop into the oven until it browns. Top with a dollop of Greek yogurt and some salsa (spicy of course) and that is some GOOD eating!
