You're supposed to be on full liquids for almost two months after surgery?  Wow.  Most docs just do full liquids for one or two weeks.

I have no idea what your doc means by soft proteins.  My diet was full liquids for one week, pureed foods for one week, then soft foods for six weeks.  It's probably best to ask your doc for a list of foods included on your plan, if you  didn't get that already.

Yeah, i am no doctor, but 2 months of liquids does not seem right.  I am kinda spoiled, i was on soft foods right out of the hospital and only on liquids 1 day before surgery and I was absolutely fine.  I would be questioning my doc.  I swear, the most I have heard of was 2 or 3 weeks post op.  2 months seems a bit excessive...

When I was on soft foods I ate Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, beans, vegetarian chili, eggs, string cheese, protein shakes... I dunno.  Maybe that's all I ate for protein.

Greek Yogurt... 15g protien per 1 c. serving
Egg whites = 7 g. protien per serving

You need to read the lables to maximize your protein intake with the soft foods.  Be sure to minimize the fats and carbs though.  Here is the progression of foods that I could consume and when...You have to do your homework by reading labels to find the ones that are best for the protien...for instance I would eat the greek yogurt instead of regular yogurt to get the best bang for your buck on protein.

Hope this helps... good luck

i would consider poached fish, egg salad, scrambled eggs, greek yogurt, chili, beans with cheese all to be soft proteins. I guess you should run it by your doc to be certain....

Since you are only 10 days out of surgery, I would hold off on the beans, chili, and egg salad.  The fish if you can puree it should be ok...just be sure what ever you eat it must be pureed and easy on the stomach.

Soft protein is white fish (tilapia, trout, etc.), eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese, and whey protein powder.

I'm sure there are others, but those are the ones recommended to me by my trainer.
