Opinions on the Smoothie King Gladiator

 Pros and Cons on this smoothie.  I want to try it today.  It has 45 grams of protein and 1 carb.

I came on here today to ask the exact same question. 

I had a strawberry Gladiator from Smoothie King last week with a double serving of fresh strawberries, and it was really good. It cost $5 for the small, 20oz serving.   I bought a tub of the protein mix and made a couple of shakes at home.  One I froze the mix and water first and made a smoothie in the blender, and the other I just mixed the mix and water and drank it without freezing.  It tasted better as a smoothie, but still not as good as the smoothie I had from the Smoothie King store.

It is a little expensive, one tub has 20 servings and is about $40, compare that to Nectar which you can usually find for under $30 for 36 servings.  Granted the Nectar only has 23 grams protein per serving, but the Nectar serving is one scoop, the Gladiator serving is two scoops.  If you made a big enough drink, you could put two scoops of Nectar in it and get 46 grams of protein, no carbs, and the same calories (180).

Overall, I did like the tastes of the Gladiator and am glad to have it for a change of pace from my Nectar shakes.  You can also buy single serving packs from Smoothie King for about $2 to try the different flavors.

I LOVE SMOOTHIE KING! from what I have found it has the MOST protein for the least carbs and calories. The only thing is I cant find any info on the value changes when you add in the fruit.

I have the tub at home. DH likes to mix it with water, but I use skim milk. I like the taste too and the smothie for me is a total meal replacement (when my band is filled) cause its so thick.

Would the fruit in the smoothie cause you to dump?

 I went and bought one today.  I have the Gladiator with Strawberries and Mango.  I didn't dump.  It was really sweet.  I guess since I have only been drinking Crystal Light, it would taste sweet.  That's a good question about the fruit.  I'll email Smoothie King and ask.  I bought the Large.  It was $8.99 and 40 oz.  I figured I get my 45 grams of protein and 40 oz of liquid at the same time.  I put it in the freezer and have been eating it out of a 1 cup measuring cup.  It was soooooo good!!!!

 

I love it!!!  I am so glad Deon posted about it.  I would have never known and the Gladiator and the Smoothie KIng in my city is right around the corner from my house!
I like going to the store and buying it, as it makes me feel like I am having a treat! :-)
I am gonna buy the big tub next week though.

Ok my Smoothie King here is just awesome.  I just went into the store and asked if they had samples and they told me that they didn't.  They said they could make me one.  I explained to them that I was trying to find a protein drink that I liked and also explained that I needed something that didn't taste sweet.  (I am one of those rare people who does not like sweets, never have).  Anyway the guy took two scoops of the chocolate powder and put it in a cup and gave it to me.  I asked how much and he said "don't worry about".

Well I got home and smelled it and it didn't smell sweet like some of the others I have tried so I mixed it with some LF milk and it is actually not too bad.  I can still kind of taste the whey but other than that it doens't have much flavor.  (me likey)

I found out too that when I go back and buy the tub that I get a free smoothie
