average progression of weight loss after Roux en Y
Initial wt loss from RNY surgery will vary widely. There are many factors involved
Did you lose a good amount of wt prior to surgery? If so, you initial wt loss may appear slow.
Are you exercising? It helps the metabolism work better.
Are you drinking enough water?
Are you eating the foods suggested by your surgeon, or eating whatever you want?
Etc.
Those patients who attend regular support group meetings tend to be the people who do the best with wt loss surgery. You'll also get more education about the process and how to improve you wt loss progress. DAVE

It's not an overnight fix and we aren't always going to lose big every week. It didn't come on overnight so it won't come off overnight. It may seem small now but in a few months you'll be shocked at what you've lost! Don't obsess about the scale, focus on getting your fluids, vitamins, proteins in and follow your guidelines and you'll do fine!
It's not easy to be patient but you'll drive yourself nuts if you're not!

In my case I lost quite a bit to begin with, 25 lbs in the first 3 weeks. Then nothing until week 8, when I was down to 33 lbs. I was at exactly 50% EWL at 6 months, and I was NOT at goal by 14 months out.... I stalled at 30 pounds above goal for about six months, then another month with no losses then I lost the last bit and hit goal at 20 months. But since I had almost 200 lbs to lose when I began my six month diet, I guess it's not so far off my estimates.
