I wake up after about 4 hours with ambien, lunesta and trazadone.  So, I take it to fall asleep and if needed take another to fall back asleep.  Like the others said, those are all such tiny pills you can swallow them now.

I will live each day in the mindful present

I haven't slept since 1997! I have discovered that Ambien with a 2 Benydryl chaser will generally let me sleep about 4 hours - oh happy day!

I take Ambien CR 12.5mg every night.  I crush them and eat them with a spoonful of yogurt or whatever I have open.  I am out like a light and don't wake up until the next morning.  However, they do not work for me if I just swallow them.  Although the drug company doesn't recommend cutting/crushing them you can.  I actually had an Ambien rep tell me once to cut them in half and take the controlled release of another pill along with my initial dose to help me stay asleep longer (before my rny)  Anyway, that's what I do and it works...best of luck to you. Insomnia is a *****!!!

Ambien and other sleep aids differ with each person and experience is different for them too.  My concern is taking one dose then sleep a couple of hours and take another one.  Possibly could mistake in middle of night and have an accidental overdose which could be life threatening even worse death.  Also mixing Ambien with other drugs that suppress the respitory system can have devasting outcome.  If this is done under your PCP recommndation or other physician then follow those orders.  Litening to the rep saying what can p[oss work is not good advice it can have major repercussions and it is like the rep was giving advice that is not medically sound.  Just be careful all and disclose the info to your doctor so that they are aware and if any new meds then can advise how rto take with current ones

I take my half before bed and put part B in a bottle cap near my glass. There is no mistake about what I'm grabbing that way.

P.S.  My year + long absence has NOTHING to do with my WLS, or my type of WLS. See my profile.

I've taken Ambien CR for years, including once I got home after my surgery.  It works well for me (unlike regular Ambien, or Lunesta).  The pill is tiny; I've never had any issues with swallowing it, and generally have no issues staying asleep.

Wow you don't crush and it does not get stuck. I will ask doctor Friday.  I did take a regular ambien last night and slept. Someone told me it might be my age.  :)
