Rash around my incisions

I haven't taken Lortab.... but I have taken percocet and vicodin, adn I thought lortab was just a liquid form of one of those. Pain doc thinks it was a reaction to one of the inert ingredients in teh Lortab. At the time it was AWFUL, but retrospectively.... I never had time to worry about food and stuff for my first two weeks.

Some people get all hungry on steroids.... for me they kill my appetite. (which is probably why my appetite has been suppressed, as I had a steroid shot on Friday)

Yes, lortab is liquid vicodin and I agree, it was probably from one of the liquid ingredients and not the actual vicodin or lortab.

Thanks guys, I made an appt with my PCP this week.  My surgeon office is too far so I'm going to try seeing my PCP instead.  The rash has spread to my arms and is really uncomfortable.  It literally woke me up last night it was so bad.  I'm four weeks out and this just started happening a few days ago.  I'm taking everything I can think of and nothing is helping.  Urghh, just when I thought I was having a great recovery!!

Ice, frozen veggies.... it's AMAZING....powders, creams, benadryl... none of those helped.... but ice is my friend. I lived on it for two weeks. I think it helped my incisions heal too.

Well I went to my PCP today and it looks like I am in fact having a reaction to either the steri strips (which he doubts) or most likely the dissolvable stiches.  He wanted to give me a steriod shot or pills but didn't want to rush to that as it can affect healing.  Being four weeks out he would rather we wait.  So he gave me a steriod cream to put on my rash (which is really bad on my left arm), Zyrtec, Pepcid, and Benadryl at night.  The Benedryl dosage is much higher then I was using so will see if this works.  I will follow back up with him on Monday and see how this is looking.  Go figure.  Of all things never thought this would be a problem!  Ladies thanks for all of you valuable input.  If it weren't for you all I wouldn't have gone to the doctor and hoped it went away on it's own.  Once I realize how serious this can be I moved up my appt from Friday to today!  Hoping I'm on my way!!!
