4 days postop vomiting dark green bile?
I had my surgery on Wednesday morning and was discharged on Friday. Besides a little nausea I haven't really had any post-op complications until today. Today I haven't been able to keep anything down. I am supposed to be taking in 2-3 ounces per hour, but I probably haven't been able to keep down 1 or 2 ounces all day. I'm not having any pain, just nausea and this vomiting. I called the doctor who doesn't seem too worried about it, just told me to slow down on the fluids. Anybody else experience this? I'm just hoping it's not my gallbladder. I don't want to have to go through another surgery at this point! Ugh! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Sorry to hear you are having problems today. I had same surgery day and went home on Friday as well. I have had problems getting the volumes of fluids in....never thought 64 oz was sooooo much water. I am able to keep everything down, the thick green bile is running in reverse for me (sorry if TMI). I have found that the cold liquids hurt my stomach, kinda make it cramp but the warm stuff is soothing. I had been having terrible gas pressure, sipped about 2-3 of warm broth and it was crazy all the gurgling and bubbling noises that my stomach made. Now the gas pressure is gone. Maybe try something warm? Hope you get to feeling much better soon!
Gallbladder is painful and just no appetite.
Sounds like your problem is different.
Green Bile is usually an indication of appendicitis if you still have it but you also would have pain around your navel area.
If it continues I wouldn't wait to long, maybe another 6 hours and head to ER if you don't feel better.
If you slow down on the fluids you will dehydrate.
I been there and it's not fun.
Call back DR for Zofran, or Reglan suppostories for the nausea
Take care and good luck.

Hello,
I hope you are feeling better by now.
I had my surgery on Tuesday of last week, Wednesday night I was having a lot of Nausea, the nurse told me not to drink anything else and gave me phenergan-I was out for like 4 hours.
They gave a Rx but did not fill-maybe go slowly on the liquids and try just clear liquids and not protein for an hour or two-it work for me.
