ReViva liquid calcium?
Has anyone tried the ReViva liquid calcium from Costco? How does it taste? I saw it when I was shopping today but didn't want to buy it without knowing if it was good for us RNY-ers? http://www.revivanutrition.com/product_more.html

I checked the label and it looks like they are not showing you the elemental amount of calcium, so you have to do the math yourself. Calcium Citrate is always 21% of the total salts (citrate) to get the elemental content of calcium. Even though the label has the "magic" words "Calcium AS Citrate" - I know it hasn't been divided out because it says you'll get 1000mg per 1oz dose and I also know that is simply not scientifically possible (people smarter than me have done the math on that). I think Andrea posted information about this calculation stuff here on the forums within the past week or so, I'll see if I can find it (she explains it better than I just did).
So the recommended 1 ounce dose will give you 210mg of elemental calcium. Which means to get the ASMBS recommendation of 1500-2000mg elemental calcium citrate per day you'll need to take 13 to 18 ounces per day. So that one bottle will last you a little over 2 days worth of doses.
If you need some recommendations on other calcium options, here's a list on my blog:

I love UpCalD. I just got a box with two cans in it the other day. I mix it into my protein shake each morning.

Good day all - I am the Chief Innovation Officer for Healthy Brands, the team behind LiQUID ReViva High Absorption Calcium. I am glad that some of you like or are interested in our product. I would like to go on the record with the true facts:
1) Our label claim of 1000 mg is in elemental calcium. It isn't impossible at all. - a liquid ounce is 30 grams, so we have plenty of room to formulate an elemental calcium of 1000mg of Calcium (from citrate).
2) As for absorption - the term that is commonly used, the real need for calcium is in bone utilization - which the citrate form, along with our Vitamin D3 and magnesium help increase. So any blood plasma absorption study is missing the point (especially on an empty stomach when traditional cal carbs is used to neutralize acid).
3) Taking the 1000 mg dose of elemental calcium - from citrate - in our liquid "body ready form" - with 1000 IU of Vitamin D3 - and with complementary magnesium...just makes scientific sense!.
