Wow, I had surg on Jan 14th so still on pureeds.  Had read someone post about this product so I bought it in preparation for this 2 week period.  Was really scared to even try it because someone had said it looks like Alpo!  YIKES!  But, all the posts were really positive as far as the taste goes, so I opened the can tonite.  First thought: There is no way in H E double L I'm eating that shizz!  The cats and dogs (all four!) came running into the kitchen obviously smelling something THEY liked!  LOL!  Okay, so I measured out my little oz w/ an oz of ready made Bob Evans mashed potatoes and heated them in microwave.  It definitely looked wayyyy better after heating, no longer PINK!  Took my baby spoon and got a little bite into my mouth.......OMG!  I'm not kidding, it is DELICIOUSSSS!!!!  ROFLMAO!  I love it and I can foresee eating this way after pureed stage.  Try it!  You'll like it!  Woof, woof!  LOLOLOL!
P.S. This is NOT CORNED beef hash; just Roast beef hash.  I'm sure I would hate the corned beef hash as I hate corned beef; but to each his own!

Later on when you are past purees, cook it in a skillet and let it get nice and crispy- soooo good!

I had my surgery on the 14th of January also and I would LOVE to have some roast beef hash.

It's amazing how much different Dr.'s protocols vary from one to another.
It's just not on my list of allowed things to have.....wahhhh

RNY on 11/15/10 with
It wasn't on my list, but it is very soft and someone suggested it so I tried it because you can sma**** with a fork and it was wonderful! I separated it into little servings and froze it in tiny containers (babyfood, tupperware etc...) and then got it out when I wanted some..did the same thing with refried beans because I ate so little that the can would have gone bad. YUMMY!!!

Hi, I've been portioning out my different foods into 1 and 2 oz containers, too.  Great idea!  Some I freeze for later, and some I put in fridge expecting to eat within a week.

It is delicious and I live it browned and crispy in a fryinh pan.  Alas its a food I gave up years ago as I worked to slim down.  I'm glad it passes your surgeon'd definition of puree.  My surgeon would have vetoed it for texture, carbs , and fat content.
