Please, please, PLEASE will you reconsider eating fast food / convenience food / junk food after you've gone to the trouble of having weight loss surgery????

Honestly, eating this cr*p post-op is the path to perdition!!!

Do you realize how much SUGAR there is in all this stuff?  Even if you think it's "meat"???  And all the chemicals, and artificial crud, you are pouring into yourself?

Taco Bell alone was sued week before last for having "seasoned beef" that is only 35% beef!

Lookie here:

SEASONED GROUND BEEF

Beef, Water, Seasoning [Isolated Oat Product, Salt, Chili Pepper, Onion Powder, Tomato Powder, Oats (Wheat), Soy Lecithin, Sugar, Spices, Maltodextrin, Soybean Oil (Anti-dusting Agent), Garlic Powder, Autolyzed Yeast Extract, Citric Acid, Caramel Color, Cocoa Powder (Processed With Alkali), Silicon Dioxide, Natural Flavors, Yeast, Modified Corn Starch, Natural Smoke Flavor], Salt, Sodium Phosphates. CONTAINS SOYBEAN, WHEAT

In this case they combine"isolated oat product" (which is leftover junk from processing oatmeal) in their "Seasoning" to hide the fact that it's about 30% by weight of their "beef" -- I highlighted the other starches in green.   Which means that when you eat their beef you are getting a sh*tload of unsavory carbohydrate.  To say nothing of all the sugar (highlighted by me in red).

Y'all seem to be missing just how this stuff is making us fat!  Without us even thinking much about it!

Actually I heard about the TBell "beef" recently. Kind of scary huh?

As far as fast food, I only have it maybe twice a month now and it is usually Starbucks when I get it. They have some healthy options. I did a post on it on my blog (FormerlyFluffy.com) a few wks. ago.

Maria, you are much too important and valuable a person to fill your vehicle with junk.  You may as well be putting sugar in your gas tank (which you wojuldn't do) ...

This is a hot-button issue for me.  People have no clue what they put into their bodies when they go to a fast-food joint.,  It is so much worse than we realize.

And it's insidious.

Oh I realize we should all eat better, and I eat 100 times better than I used to!

I agree with whacka doodle. Although a lot of people said they will use it for emergency use, so I assume that means on a rare occasion they need to get fast food.

I do however know people who are post op and still eat this crap regularly. While something may look like a good choice going by calories and protein, it is still crap food.

The only thing I ever get from a fast food place is Coffee.

I know most of it should be avoided. Very occasionally I don't think hurts that much.
