Fast Food options post-WLS
Your very welcome! I am trying to put a lot of good content on my new blog, FormerlyFluffy.com .
I know it's important to plan and be prepared with good food options...........however as we all know.........things can come up, and it's good to have other options.
In fairness to the ones that post though............I think they just posted what they did b/c they care and want all of us to give our WLS the best chance of working for us.
If you click on my RSS feed below this you can subscribe.
Thanks again!
I can't do any chinese food...one bite and I'm sick. Not sure what it is..I've tried several different dishes. So I just don't eat it anymore.
I very very rarely pick anything up at fast food places...like many others, only in an emergency situation. When I do, I stick to a grilled chicken breast salad and only use a tiny bit of dressing. (I pick out the croutons) I have tried the grilled chicken at KFC..it's pretty good. I skip the bisquit and only eat a few bites of the coleslaw.
Thanks for the list...it definitely will help when looking for a good protein source when you're stuck out somewhere and don't have access to your usual food.
I went out to breakfast with my daughter yesterday...I think this is the hardest for me as far as choices. I cannot do eggs anymore..they taste just aweful now and give me an terrible stomach ache. I tried to order food high in protein, ate that first then only had 2 bites of carbs. I ended up taking most of it home and gave it to my son.

Just as a quick sidenote... I have an Android cell phone there is a great app that is called restaurants, it has all the break down for about 30 places with all the nutrition info. If and when I actually have to pick up fast food I use this before ordering just so I actually know what I'm getting. For people that do eat this stuff regular there is a journal where you can add the items to your day. Its a really good application, for buyers to be aware!!!

Thank you so much for posting this! Even though I've never heard of many of these places :-) I know fast food isn't the best meal plan, but like most people it is something I do occasionally. I'm only 4 weeks out, and haven't tried it yet, but 3-4 times/year I drive my daughter to meet her dad, then pick her up a week or more later (6.5 hrs round trip). Spending all day in the car we DO have lunch while we're there - we meet at a rest stop in CT (halfway point), and while once in a while I'll take her out to a sit-down restaurant, just as often I need to choose something inexpensive and quick, to get back on the road heading home. My first trip post-op will be later this month, so it's good to know what my options are - McDonald's is one common stop (usually on the way home, since once she's been away for a week I let her choose where we go), and I think the Mexican place there (often where we eat on the first leg of the trip), while not on this list, will have some of the same things on the Taco Bell list.
