Can anyone recommend some good dishes for me? I can't have any meat yet.. but I can do soft cooked veggies and pasta. It's been a few years since I've been to Olive Garden so I'm not familiar with their menu. I can't do bowtie pasta as that doesn't sit well with me but rotini is good.

Thanks for all your help! This is my first time eating out since surgery and I'm nervous!

you are allowed pasta? I'm jealous. My program called for NO pasta until at least 3 months out I think. You aren't allowed  ANY meat at all? I was allowed "soft" meats at two weeks out. I was able to eat tuna etc.

You could pull up their menu and go through it and see what sounds good for you.

At least that way you could find something that works with YOUR program. Every program seems so different. LOL.

I am jealous too!  My program doesnt allow pasta until we have lost 75% of our excess....usually about 6 months!

Have fun at Olive Garden (one of my favorite places)....you could try the minestrone soup...no meat in there, just veggies!

I agree! I LOVE their minestrone soup and get it everytime my husband and kids want to go to Olive Garden.

That may not be such a good idea.  4 weeks out?   that pasta is going to kill you and you probably will dump when it turns into sugar.   The veggies will be fine but shouldn't you still be in the puried stage?  WOW!  you're moving really fast, I would hate to see you get sick if you don't have to.  I would stick to something like a soup something that will be safe.

Their menu is filled with pastas, salad, and bread, all of the things we aren't supposed to be doing.  good luck let me know how it goes.  I think I'd choose another restaurant.

I did great at Olive Garden the other night, it was my first night out also.  However, I am not allowed pasta, but am allowed meat and veggies.  So, I had the mixed grill and it was amazing!

If you are allowed pasta and veggies you will beable to have almost anything, just ask for it without meat.

I would eat before I went and just sip on room temperature water - or bring a protein shake.  Four weeks is really early out - I was still on mushies at that point.   I went there at over 1 yr out and ordered meat sauce separate from the pasta and just ate the meat sauce.

It's a shame you can't have meat, they have some delicious mussels on their appetizer menu.  It sounds like you definitely need to stick to the minestrone soup.....it's yummy.
