Fat, I Mean PHAT Girl Jeans For Apple Shapes!

Ok, as we all know, buying jeans in plus sizes is NO fun and very difficult for those of us with the apple shape which is a larger waist and smaller hips and thighs.

Seems the manufacturers of womens plus size jeans seem to think that everyone has a smaller waist with huge hips and thighs. Well, not all of us are shaped that way.

Fashion Bug's Right Fit YELLOW Fit Plus size Rodeo Jeans used to fit me very well, but according to the reviews, they have changed the sizing and they are running 2 sizes small.

My problem is that our local Fashion Bug closed down and one has to order online.

So, all this is to ask, WHERE can I buy stretch denim jeans for those of us with the apple shape and will not be hugely baggy in the hips and thighs? I prefer boot cut because skinny jeans do not look good on me.

Please advise links for online as we live in a smaller town and there are very few options for plus size here locally. Cheap is also good because if I am approved for surgery, I won't be wearing these huge sizes for very long.

Sorry for the book I just wrote!

I order sometimes from Lane Bryant (www.lanebryant.com) and they have the same type of system "yellow, red, and blue" depending on your body shape.

Yeah, Lane Bryant and Fashion Bug are the same company. I looked at the reviews just now on the Lane Bryant site and people are mostly giving bad reviews. Since they changed the Right Fit Jeans from plus sizes 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, etc. to the normally seen plus sizes like 22,24, 26, 28 etc. they changed the way they are sized. People are reporting that the YELLOW Fit are now tight in the waist which is exactly what they are NOT supposed to be. Plus I don't know what Lane Bryant is trying to pull here, but the say Right Fit jeans are way more when you click on the Lane Bryant tab than on the Fashion Bug tab.

You know, it's a shame that they come out with something awesome, great fit, great price, etc. then they have to screw around with it and they absolutely have ruined the ONLY pair of jeans I have found to fit me correctly.

Torrid!!! Its the best. Depending on what you are looking for they have very hip styles. I am apple shaped and I only buy my jeans there. Go in if you can and ask for exactly what you are looking for, they are very helpful and sometimes the jeans are in different places around the store. The brand Source of Wisdom is my fav. They are the more comfortable cute jeans I have ever owned.
Give it a try :)

Also! They are very easy to deal with ordering online. Returns are very easy :)

Thank you Lindsey, I went and checked out Torrid, but what I found is that their size chart shows the hip measurement being like 9 inches larger than the waist measurement. I need them to only be like 5-6 inches bigger than the waist measurement at the most. This is because when I choose a size that fits me in the waist, then the hips and thighs are very baggy. If they fit me in the hips and thighs then the waist is miserably tight and makes me look even worse than I already do.

You know, I really don't know how hard it can be to make plus size clothing for various body shapes. The Right Fit jeans have the right idea and other companies need to do it like Fashion Bug did to begin with before they messed it up.

Hello, fellow Right Fit Yellow'er!  :)  I was so upset when Lane Bryant changed it's Right Fit formula.  The new ones don't fit me well (neither jeans or dress pants).  The Fashion Bug right fit pants don't fit me that great either.  The jeans used to work for me, but no more.  I have searched all over the place for pants, and here's what I've found that works:

Maurices Orchid Boot Cut (comes in tall and regular for plus sizes) are the ONLY jeans I've found that work for me.  There is some stretch to them.

For dress pants, I found some nice boot cut pants at Ann Taylor Loft and I also buy the Fashion Bug Secret Slimmer Stretch Woven Pants.  I haven't tried on the Fashion Bug Secret Slimmer jeans - didn't even know they had them.  But it looks like they do from that page...

Good luck and if you find any others that work for us apple folk, let me know!

Thanks for the links. The Maurice jeans look great, however, they only go up to size 24, some of us fat butts need a 28!
