4 days Post-Op Panniculectomy Pics (graphic)

Thought I'd post my after pictures because:

1)  I'm under the influence of narcotics;

2)  Most people opt for the full tummy tuck and don't know what it looks like if you "just" have the panniculectomy.  I didn't know what to expect.  Note that my surgeon did give me a new and improved navel.  Also, I had too many stretch marks to get rid of them all.  Surgeon said that had they been confined to below the navel, they could have all been removed.

Side view - you can see how swollen my tummy is:

I didn't take a "before" but I think many of you can imagine that anyway.  So far, I'm quite pleased with the results.

It looks great!! YOU look great. Was it horrible painful?

It's painful - but well managed with meds.  A burning sensation mostly.  The binder and drains are irritating.  Yesterday, I felt pretty good, so I made dinner for the family - I think I'm paying for it today.  So, I'm taking it easy.

Thanks!

I had my panniculectomy on March 3rd and our tummies look very similiar.....thank you for posting your pics! you look great!

Those narcotics are amazing huh?..lol..and to think my surgeon gave me 90 of them...haha!

I only had 1 JP drain and it was taken out on day 6, everyone is different.  But my back pain is gone and my surgeon said that our tummies will continue to improve over the next 6-8 weeks.

were you instructed to wear a binder 24/7....me and my binder have become married..I love it pulled sooo tight..lol

I have to post some pics too....On my profile right after I had RNY are pics of my tummy...post PS it looked pretty much the same which is why my back hurt so much, I haven't seen a flat stomach in over 20 years....Amazing!

much more healing blessings your way!

Narcotics are amazing - if you take them.  I'm a bit afraid of meds, but took one this morning.

I have the same binder instructions - but I hate the damn thing!  The tightness around my incision feels good, but they didn't have one small enough (eyeroll), and it digs my hips and below my bra.  It's really irritating.  I can't wait to wear my own support garment.

I'd love to see your pics!

Today I'm wearing the binder on top of my yoga pants - it's much better.  I'm going to have to go get some t-shirts.

Thanks,
Laura
