Has anyone ever felt this way?
In the last 2 or 3 weeks anything I eat feels funny after 3 or 4 bites. I wouldn't say nauseous, but it feels like I shouldn't take another bite. I get the same feeling after I've had a few swallows of protein shake or drink. I have been drinking the same protein since before the surgery and now it feels funny. I've been using this as a indicator that I should stop eating, but it's not 1/4 cup of food. Any suggestions? BTW, I can only eat ground beef, fish, and shrimp right now. Chicken came back up last week, no matter how I ate it. I'm leaving it alone until next week and then I will try again.
I'm sorry, I am 7 weeks post op as of yesterday. I guess it's been going on for 5 weeks. I always thought a strictor was when you couldn't keep anything down because the entrance to your pouch was swollen or too small. Please let me know what your surgeon says. Post it tomorrow or send me a message, I would really like to know if I should contact them. I thought this was just one of the things that comes along with the eating for some people. Thanks
When I was 7 weeks I was on puree and allowed 2 oz per meal. Make sure your protein is getting to 65 gm a day. If that means drinking more protein drinks - that's OK.
I still can't do chicken at 2 yrs post op. You will feel many unusual sensations along this journey. If you have the feeling you should stop after 2 oz, then I would stop. I did have 3 planned snacks per day - all protein forward. Make sure to get all your fluids in, too.
I think you are doing well to be eating solid food already - I couldn't at that point.
Call your surgeon if you have questions or start vomiting more or not keeping anything down. Take your time, this is a journey. You have plenty of time to eat new things.

Thanks, the problem is that I can't do protein drinks well either. I'm thinking that I may need to eat more often. I am trying to get 5 small meals a day. I don't count snacks cause my meals are the same size. I will try to figure out 2 oz and go from there. Thanks for the advice. BTW, any advice on how to record the amount of protein in home made meals?
You can use an online diary log like daily plate or fitday, or use a book to look up portion sizes and carbs, fats, protein, fiber, etc.
You need to find protein (whey isolate) that you can tolerate. You don't have to like it - you need it. You just haven't tried enough brands or enough ways to get it in. This takes some work but you will rely on it for life. Your tastes change dramatically and we can train our bodies to tolerate most anything. I suggest you try samples of many different protein powders and many ways to fix them. You will find the right one for you. There is no other way to get adequate protein at 2 oz per meal - even if you eat nothing but protein. There will be times you don't want to eat and protein powders or ready to drinks will be your option of choice. There are hundreds of options. Don't give up so easily. Many of us have tried more than 20 kinds before we found what works for us. You gotta do it. It isn't about what you like, but what your body needs.

OK, thanks for the advice. I will keep trying. Today I had 4 oz of Adkins and that was OK. 1/2 container of yogurt was OK, but my 1/4 cup of taco meat and cheese wasn't. I had 3 or 4 bites and I felt funny again. I will go on-line and order some more types of drink samples and try them. I know it takes work which is why I'm asking for suggestions. Your experiences will help me to understand if it's in my mind or if it's real. Thanks
