First, I wanted to offer myself as a travel partner!! :)

Funny, Australia used to be my dream trip. May need to add that back to my list.

And I have heard some very good things about Ireland and seen some stunning photos of  a few of the sights. Now if I just liked beer...

Just one? you must be kidding... I traveled so much already... and really liked it. Lived in Greece for 2 years, in Canada for 5 years... (1 in Montreal)... so in a way - I am spoiled...
But I would like to travel more to Europe... Take a Mediterranean cruise... go to Paris, Rome, and other places in Italy.. Go back to London... visit Ireland, Scotland...
And of course any vacation - relaxing on islands... Have been on some before , but would like to just get great beach, simple surrounding.. just the bliss of one week vacation... on a beach...

 India India India.
I would really like to see Kashmir but that may not be safe in my lifetime.
I would love to see the entire country but that would be many trips.
Shimla and Dharamlala would be great.
There is also a trip up the Ganges partly by boat.
I do believe I will be able to take at least one trip to India.

Now that is a dream trip!! So glad you are enjoying the boards again. I think it is such a great place to keep motivated regardless if we are talking about issues directly related to weight or not. And for me, a lot of these whimsical kinds of discussions do relate to weight because I can promise you 138 pounds ago I'd not have been dreaming of going ziplining in the Congo!!

I'm looking up your ice hotel--that sounds very, very cool! They have a thing here in DC every year at Christmas called ICE where they do these elaborate ice sculptures in a 9 degree enclosure. I've missed the past two years, but I'm definitely getting there next year. Perhaps that would help scratch your itch until you get to Finland!!

Welcome back! Be sure to hang out with us!!

As usual, great question Denise. I enjoy the way you get people talking with your posts. I think I am lucky that living in Carmel, I already live in a place that would be many folks' dream vacation location. There are few more picturesque sights than where the Pacific Ocean meets the land of Carmel. Couple that view, with the rolling vinyards that you could hot-air ballon over, throw in all the quaint shops, including my wine and cheese shop, and for the grand finale you just might run into one of my favorite actors (and my husband's too), Clint Eastwood. But if you are going to force me to leave my home in paradise, I would say it is between a cruise to the Greek Isles, or a trip to Austria, where I would "Climb Every Mountain," until I found the location where the opening and closing scens of Sound of Music were filmed, with those breathtaking views of the mountains, lakes and valleys...you could almost feel that fresh clean mountain air right through the tv set. I, too hear Ireland is very pretty, so keep it on your bucket list..

Lucky you! I can just imagine the water breaking at the bottom of the bluffs. Beautiful. When I mentioned the hot air ballooning I almost mentioned Napa Valley, but figured that wasn't quite "around the world" enough, but you may have yourself a deal with that wine and cheese shop. What a great job!! Clint Eastwood is my father-in-law's favorite actor. He has all his movies. Did you see Gran Torino? Powerful movie. Hmmm, perhaps a movie FDQ is in order. I digress.

My husband visited Crete. I can surely pick his brain about it if you'd like!

And I have an amazing picture of these beautiful purple clouds over a golf course in Ireland, as well as a picture of this dreamy bridge that leads to a stony building by the sea's edge. I can see myself standing there now...

Funny I always say that I never have enough time to even see all of Maine I would like to see!  But I will, so my dream vacation would probably just be some tropical place with my BFF (my DH doesn't like to sit on beaches) for a week or two.

At first glance I thought your post said you were going to go to the tropical location with your BF (boyfriend) since DH doesn't like beaches!! I thought, dang, now that is a nice husband!!!! :)
