My dream trip would be to have an around the world plane ticket. I want to go everywhere and do everything. But I especially want to see the:

-Pyramids in Giza
-Tuscany
-London (it just seems like a jazzy kinda place)
-Cape Verde (where my grandfather is from)
-Goree Island (as the descendant of slaves this one is more about connecting with my past)
-Moscow (little know fact about Nik is that she is semi-fluent in Russian...well...I'm getting back to semi-fluency...but still...you didn't know that did you???)
-Anywhere in India (I worked with a lady once who has a house in India and showed me the most gorgeous pictures)
-Australia (just cuz)
-The Holy Land (obvious reasons)

So an around the world ticket would do. Do I think I will ever do that? Probably not to be realistic. But I can dream and plan...

Russian? Go figure! Good list. And yes, always good to dream and plan. Mmmm, Tuscany--that sounds dreamy!

We better start working those frequent flyer miles!!!

...and money for a passport. I've never been out of the U.S. (well I took about five steps into Mexico but that doesn't count). If I pass along a pickle jar...everyone put in a quarter, k?

RNY Gastric Bypass 1-8-08 350/327/200 (HW/SW/CW). I spend most of my time playing with my food over at Bariatric Foodie - check me out!

It's a trip I will take someday.
It's a 62 day trip out of Seattle. It goes up to Alaska-across to Russia and then down that coast-china, japan, Korea, Vietnam and then over to Australia. Then it comes back across the pacific stopping at different  islands and then a week around Hawaii. It ends in San Diego.
So I can see 1/2 of the world and only have to take a flight from San Diego to Seattle.
I'm married to a terrible flier. It's the only way I'm going to make it over there. I drool over the itinerary every year.

What a fun question.  Beats reading about stalls and protein drinks for the umpteenth time....

Ok, call me weird, but my dream trip would be to go to the Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam....  And as luck would have it, it looks like I'll be going next year!  I JUST finished Skyping with my boyfriend who's in Afghanistan now (he's retired military/private contractor over there. He's also 5 years out from RNY)  He said he wants to take me as he knows I've always wanted to go there. (actually HE suggested for THIS Nov. but my work obligations won't allow it since I've already taken my allotted time off for my gastric bypass)  I've not had the opportunity to travel much, so this will be a real treat for me.  Three cheers for generous and thoughtful boyfriends!  lol

My second trip I'm sorta halfway planning/wishing to take is to Costa Rica with my best friend two years from now for my 50th birthday. With the help of this surgery and getting in shape I'll be able to hike up to the beautiful waterfalls and zip-line in the jungle.  I am also planning on taking a long weekend type cruise somewhere as well in two years for my 50th with some of my Red Hat Society lady friends that I am honored to be in a group with.  My beloved Mother was planning on going on that Red Hat cruise with me, (She was the "Queen Mother" of our group if anyone knows what that is....) but sadly she passed away a little over a year ago so unfortunately I'll be taking that trip solo.........

At my current weight (I'm newly post op) I can't even imagine having the stamina and ability to go on a vacation anywhere as it would require some kind of walking no matter where it would be and I don't do that so well right now due to tremendous pain I have in my knees, but I know I will all in good time.

Another Costa Rican zip liner!! And another sad story of a beloved parent not being around any longer to share in a special trip. She will certainly be there in spirit! My condolences. And you will be feeling so much stronger and lighter very soon--you will be able to have a blast on your vacations!! And I need to hear more about this Cannibis Cup!!

Thanks for playing along!

Thank you for the nice thoughts of my Mother.  I miss her incredibly and I agree she'd be so proud of me.  I feel her presence often. I made a promise to her on her death bed in fact that I would get this surgery so I indeed could be healthy again.

The Cannabis Cup is an annual event sponsored by High Times Magazine. Basically it's a gathering of like minded people sampling and judging all the various cannabis strains and then voting on a winner. They offer a special VIP package type deal to judge and attend the events (concerts, lectures, tour the city, etc.)  Although I am a medical marijuana patient and have access to excellent medication which means I can have it legally anytime anyway, I still think this would make for a fun trip and experience the whole "coffee house and bordello" scene.....  Again, I'm a bit odd........
