Symptoms of a leakage?

For those of you that have expirence with this. What were your symptoms and how far out were you? I have been expirencing horrible abdominal distention and nausea for 2 days now....I went to the ER but they didnt even seem to care to look into my distention issue. Just treated me for the nausea.

Rapid heartbeat, elevated temperature.

Okay, now that you've called your surgeon, a couple of notes...... there is always a buildup of fluid....this is why some folks are sent home with drains (soem surgeon's do this, some don't, mine didn't)..... it could be you have a buildup of fluid.

Are yoy passing gas? At all, have you passed ANY? If not, bad thing

Nausea itself is not terribly telling....when you say distention....explain in great detail..... you went in lookin 5 months preggers but now look 9 months? Or you went in to surgery looking 5 months and now you look 5 1/2 months...... has your girth changed noticeably and dramatically, or do you just feel bloated and bigger but not measurably so?

Now, if you didn't call your surgeon at the top of this message do it now before replying. I'll be up a while though..... so I'll check back again.

Noting your surgery date, leaks generally happen wihthin a few days to a week of surgery, not months afterwards.

Now that I've noted the surgery date ..... couple moer things.... does it hurt to palpate your stomach? How are your bowel movements? Have you been constipated? I got REALLY BAD CONSTIPATION that made me horrendously nauseaous and if you are nauseaous then this is a possibility..... there's also the possibility of a Peterson's Hernia, which most doctors don't think to look for....you should STILL call your surgeon, if not tonight in the morning.

When I went to ER and was diagnosed as "full of poop" they suggested I go home and buy a bottle of miralax and take the whole thing. A home bowel prep of sorts. I did just that and haven't had quite the same problems since because I have been on top of it so it won't get so bad. it is a thing to consider if you ARE badly constipated. I didn't connect the constipation with the nausea but was told later that it is definately a symptom.
