ok i have a quick question, my pre op food plan lets me have for dinner...

4 oz of lean meat
4 oz vegetable with 1 tblspoon olive oil
1/2 cup whole grain starch OR 1 slice whole grain bread plain...

when i asked them on phone, i asked if the whole grain starch was like pasta, they said yes, but how do you eat pasta with out anything on it?

yes i know that green beans and corn are considered to be starchy veggetables, but are they the whole grain starch or what? i know that also means potatoes, like baked or mashed i am asuming...  and where do raw baby carrots fall into?

when i really sat down and looked at what i was getting in and what was on the list, i found out that i have only been getting in half of what they are requiring me on this food plan...
NO WONDER I AM HUNGRY.. !!!!!!

i also get to have for lunch 6-8 oz of yougurt and 4 oz of vegge or fruit....i really looked at my greek yogurt that i have been eating, and its only a 40z container....so i should be able to eat 2 of them right? well i have only been eating just the 1 of them.... i am 5 days into this and I AM SO OVER THE MILK TYPE OF PROTEIN SHAKES... but the nectar ones in my homemade fresh squeezed sugar free lemonade are wonderful....

thanks for any help, i go to my surgeon consult on tuesday, and my nutrition education class on thursday, and my sugery is on the 4th....i was told wednesday night  at like 430 pm, that i was to start the pre op plan on thursday morning, so i did not get a chance to have my farewell rites to my last dinner....i have protein samples, but i just do not like the milk type of shakes....i have not drank milk in over like 30 years, i just dont drink it, dont like it...but i am fine with cheese, cottage cheese, and i cook with milk..but thats it...

again thanks for the help

wow - not sure about the rest, but there is no way I can eat that much.... my plan calls for max 1 cup of food at a meal.  There's no way I can normally even do that!  Good luck!
