Morningstar chicken patties and boca chicken patties... They go down great for me and have tons of protein. Is this ok ? I eat other things cottage cheese and yougurt and some veggies  and eggs but  I love these chicken patties. I am vegetarian so its hard to find stuff and I feel like i was eating wat too much cheese.

Just wondering

I eat pretty much the same things every day. I have no problems with any foods I just get into a rut and I like what I like. Makes it easy when I am tracking my food.

I'm not much of a cook so I go for convenience.  If I do cook I make enough for several meals so I can freeze them.  Most nights I have my chicken and salad.

I'm pretty much the same at 10 months out, except that my go-to veggie burger is the Morningstar garden veggie or black bean.

Anyone looking at my food journal would think I'm in a rut, but it works for me. I just don't care that much about food or eating anymore.

OMG...Morningstar chic patties are soooo good!!  My whole family loves them!  Of course, they eat them on buns with cheese and lettuce and I don't!  We have been eating them for years!!  Since surgery I have been pretty much vegetarian as well.  I have been on again off again vegetarian since high school and was vegan for a couple of years as well.  I have found, since surgery, I cannot tolerate meat in the least!!  i tried tuna tonight and it DID NOT work!!  To me, the morningstar patties would be great.  I hadn't thought of them!  From what I remember, they can be a bit carby though.  Have you tried the "grillers" patties?  They are by morningstar and do not have the breading and are therefor vegan and lower carb.  I like them a lot as well.

boca burgers and griller do not work for me. The chick patty dont have that much carbs and its the oly carbs i eat usually.  I do like quorn its made from MYOPROTEIN (mushrooms) goes down well. I eat fish so i am a pescatarian but  salmon has not been going down well and forget about salmon leftovers i can not do reheat.  SUCKS .  I do chick patties either quorn, morningstar and boca or chic nuggets ... I can do some gardein stuff ts really acked with protein but if overcooked can pose some problems.

Hey..whatever works. Are they soy? I know too much soy is supposed to do wonky things to your thyroid over time, but I don't know enough about it to say it's true or false.

They are soy ... I have been a vegetaian for 17years and have never heard about the soy thyroid link?  Hmm... We only eat soy products like once a day if that some days we dont even have soy but since surgery I have been eating these more and more soy.

Were did you hear this thyroid and soy thing?

Love to hear more!

I have the black bean ones in the freezer but haven't tried them out yet.

I think that if you have found something that works consistently for you and lets you get in your protein, who cares if you are in a rut!
