I got diagnosed around the age of 17 and I'm now almost 21. I had to be put on birth control to regulate it which it did. I had to go off them for the surgery and wasn't having them til 2 months later I had one on my own! I was so proud! But I put myself back on the birth control just to make sure I get them normally, even though if I didn't take them I know I could get them on my own. But I am in not rush to get pregnant so I do take it for the right reason too lol!!

I started my period for the first time in a long time when I went on the preop liquid diet - it was so unexpected.  Then for the 1st 2 months I was having it regularly.  Now it's gone again...  weird

I had/have PCOS and had the opposite problem. Instead of having no periods, I had periods that never ended... My period had not stopped on its own in over 3 years before the surgery. I'm taking the seasonique pill right now to keep me from having as many periods so that my iron levels can get caught back up to normal (hopefully)...

BUT, after surgery, I had my first seasonique period about 6 months out from surgery, and it stopped 2 days before the period pills were over! So, I'm quite hopeful that I will see an improvement in this area! I will be going off the birth control all together at the end of July and see what happens! :D

Huggles!!

I have severe PCOS and haven't had a period in six years since coming off of BCP's.

I am three months in and still no sign of Aunt Flo.
