A year and a half out here. Regrets? Nope, but you can ask me again in a few years and I'll let you know. As for side effects? Here's *my* side effects: No more Metformin for diabetes, most of my PCOS symptoms are gone, I have more energy, more stamina, I'm running, Biking, hiking, can keep up with my 3 and 4 year old (most of the time , WHERE the HECK do they get all that extra energy???), Of course, I've also had to buy a new wardrobe (size 4). Now on the down side I do have low blood pressure and suffer dizzy spells on occasion, but not enough to really cause me any problems. They usually only last a couple of seconds and their gone.  So yeah, If you asked me, It's worth it.

Katie, how is you salt intake?  I was having terrible dizzy spells, too, from low blood pressure and I started having Nik's salted caramel dessert every night and I noticed that I wasn't getting dizzy as often.  I'm not a big salt eater and I never salt my food so this is the only added salt that I really have.

I never skimp on the sallt.

Of course I honestly don't have many foods that make me want to salt it either, but if salt might be good on it, I salt it with abandon.

My BP in the hospital following my recent surgery hit a HIGH of 85/41.... I kept alarming them with 70/20 readings!

I used to, when I first lost the weight, but not much now, unless I stand for too long looking down at the kitchen counter... not sure but that makes me nauseous if I do it more than 10 minutes. Complicated recipes have to be broken up, or I can't make them. Otherwise nope, no issues with dizziness.

I'll have to check that out. I'm horrible about not using salt on anything. LOL. Thankfully the dizzy spells aren't a daily thing, but I'll try out the recipe and see how I do. Thanks for the idea!

I mentioned low blood pressure and dizzy spells in my original response to you. increasing your salt intake can help increase blood pressure so you won't have the dizzy spells.

Since Day One I have been very honest and up-front about my experience, and today marks one year since I had my RNY.I have been in the hospital seven times with complications since March 30, 2010.  I would not do this again, nor am I glad I did it. Instead, I wish I had gotten serious about diet and exercise and worked my butt off to get in shape. I secretly thought I would take that 'easy way out'. I couldn't have been more wrong!

But that's me. Everyone can't be a textbook case. I am simply one of those in the minority. Heck, someone has to! :)
